I believe ALL of us no matter how senior or junior he or she is want to make this forum a place ALL can learn from. I shall be grateful to all of you. Apology To All Forum Members (except 2).
Hi, I would like to apologise to forum members for getting out of my head in a couple of threads, since this is a public forum&I shouldnt have done that here. But I hope u would understand the circumstances in which I did that (i.e after reading Heartbeats disgusting remarks about my sister, which were really intolerable). At least if someone said this to me infront of my sister or my wife I wouldnt just stand there. Dear Admin, thanks for kicking those ppl out but when I sent those messages (at nite) u had not taken any corrective measure by then. Furthermore, Heart beats has joined the forum again&ur kicking out has been of no use apart from decreasing his posts to ZERO. When I joined this forum, I was hoping to be in the company of professionals. But I am uterly dissapointed. Even with other members, who have exhibited the typical pakistani behaviour of sitting around&watching. and NOT condemning whats wrong. No wonder our country is on this stage. We never stand up for whats right. If the leaders knew that the people would come out on the streets&beat them if they do something wrong then they would have never DARED to do anything. But they very well know that our ppl are a DEAD NATION who dont know to stand for their rites. Thats why they do curroption becoz we let them to do so. Atleast, if someone insulted someones sister or wife infront of me I would have broken his bones (maybe becoz I can) even if tht brother or husband didnt do something himself. Today, this person's insulting my sister, tommorow I m sure he will insult urs&I m damm sure someone will insult his too. Take Care, AvgJoe PS: Next time, plz dont complain about the conditions in Pakistan (especially if u choose to run away to other countries). You are equally responsible for it by not standing against whts wrong&maybe even more by running away. At least, ppl like me choose to stay&fight. Here, I would like to give a reference to one hadith (written in my own loose translation): If u see something wrong (or bad) happening, try to stop it using ur hands. If u cant then use ur tounge to stop it. If u cant even do that atleast think that this is bad in ur heart. But beweare this would be the weakest stage of faith. CHeeeeeeeeers
Launch Of Rs 5000 And 20000 Currency Notes
As you must have heard, SBP had decided to launch five and twenty thousand rupees currency notes. Regardless of the reasons given by SBP/ GoP, its clear that it will encourage further non-documentation of economy and encourage black market. It is really hard to understand that we still have so much cash economy and it is encouraged... it just reminds me of PIA... if you have bought tickets from outside pakistan... they demand cash .. STRICTLY NO CREDIT CARDS. Edited by - CBPian on Jan 09 2005 04:43:34 AM

Need For Active Moderation Of This Forum
I have been witnessing a lot of useless and profane postings on this forum for some time. Needless to mention that as the forum grows, it is bound to encounter these sorts of poster. Good forums have developed the institution of moderators. These not only help the forum keep clean but also give an impetus to healthy discussions. I, for one, am testing a new forum on a free site which if became successful will be launched formally (subject to time availability :)) I strongly request the forum administrator to assign some moderators (not more than two or three) on this forum. As a matter to ensure fairness, moderators can be picked from regular posters and/or old/new posters and a small code of conduct may be made which these moderators should adhere to. Ofcourse, finally I must say that the forum admin /owners have been doing a good job for past several years now however the forum needs t adopt to changing times. Senior Membes Should Have Privileges
I think its time now to provide senior members some Privileges like dedicated forums with restricted access ....... Admin should think it over ....... Members who qualify a certain seniority level (not the number of posts necessarily) should have some Privileges. I think we should start with members who have some professional qualifications. Chartered accountants, Acca's etc etc...... What do you think mates???????????????
Can any body define a black hole ????????????? I dont want you to copy and paste any material from any website. I want you current understanding about black holes........
From the Past Few Days i had been reviewing the forum and its posts in detail. The problem lies in the fact that some ppl like themselves to be called as seniors while others dislike the word Junior. So here Is a solution to it . Here we have all gathered to help each other . We can be categorized as Professional And Personal(Non-Professional) Helpers. The distinction can be drawn as follows. There are basic, definite differences between a personal and a professional helper. Whether we are looking at the field of mental health, counseling or social work or forum , there are certain criteria that set the professional helper apart from the personal helper. A personal, or non-professional helper, (which can include ‘paraprofessionals’ and volunteers), may have some general knowledge and training, but does not meet the standards and expectations applied to the professional helper. The personal helper may be highly motivated, they may be very sincere, they may even be quite effective, yet they lack the qualifications of the professional helper and consequently are not recognized or accredited as a professional helper. There are a number of indicators that mark a profession and there are certain standards and expectations that mark one as a professional helper . These would include having received from a recognized and accredited program the formal educational/training requirements . The professional also has a clear understanding of the Code of Ethics that applies to their field of practice, and a commitment to follow that code. The professional is a member of a common ‘culture’, sharing with their colleagues common philosophies, values, ethics, etc. The professional is part of an extended organized network through which he/she and their colleagues carry out their practice. These various standards and expectations ensure that a Professional Helper has at least a basic competence in the knowledge, skills, values and ethics that are required to practice Social Work. The professional will possess credentials, which recognize that they do meet these standards and expectations. The early days of this Forum provide a good example of what the ‘personal helper’ lacks. In those early days, there were, no common philosophies or practices, no Code of Ethics, no regulatory bodies, no common culture or organization, none of the standards and expectations that exist today. This meant that every individual involved in the early days was a non-professional helper. The lack of a common base of knowledge and a common viewpoint made for a state of chaos). As noted earlier, another criteria that sets the professional helper apart from the personal helper are the expectations that the professional is held accountable to --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come."
