| What is XBRL?? |
I was reading accounting news a few days ago on this website and came across a new term "EXtensible Business Reporting Language"(XBRL).
Since i am not a tech-savvy person, so i couldnt understand a thing what that news was trying to say  ... but from whatever i could gather from that news article, it sounded like that this XBRL thingy could be the next big thing ... savior of some sorts for the accounting profession!
Can somebody please elaborate what it is and how can it help us accountants?

| Hi my name is Haroon Adeel.I qualified in 2002.I would like to start discusion with chartered accountants involved in ERP software implementation.
I am currently working on ERP software implementation in a textile manufacturing organisation and am interested in sharing veiws and experiences with accountants playing a similar role in other organisations.

| ERP Vs EAM.. |
| Lot of debate is going in "enterprise softwares" world about "Enterprise Resource Planning" Vs "Enterprise Asset Management"... Not much material is available about the debate but what I read is that "SAP" says "there's no difference (or shouldn't be)" whereas one of their big rivals "PeopleSoft" claims that two are quite different.
Guys.. is there any feedback available???

| FSML |
| A new standard for ecommerce is being developed FSML(Financial service markup language).
It is a subset of SGML and a sister of XML and perhaps XBRL.
My friends, this standard will allow people to generate echecks, digitally sign them and send them.
FSML is designed to support electronic checks, ACH payment authorizations, ATM network transaction authorizations, and variations of a check, such as a postal money order or gift certificate.
I think other implementations could include using these digital authorisation procedures in accounting systems.
Keep a look out for this technology which is going to further revolutionse plastic money... In Japan mobile phone is being used as a debit card.. which is ofcourse another technology. However, I believe FSML will revolutionise money transactions by allowing for echecks to be transmitted from handheld devices... sounds interesting???
By the way, when ICAP is starting a chapter for XBRL? or Will it be always a follower?
