What is better between acca and cima. What is the difference between them and which one of them shall i do if i want to live in Pakistan. i have heard that we have to take three years experience after CIMA to become ACMA is it true??

I'd prefer ACCA any day,.. not because of the fact that I also hold an ACCA too. Simply because it has made a dent into the Pakistani accounting circles,.. a lot of ACCA's and CA/ACCA are already posted at mid management level. In Pakistan (Unlike the UK where CMA's have their niche in the market)CA has always had a presedence over the cost accountants (ACMA's) as ACCA has begun to function a second tier to the CA's (replacing the ACMA's to one tier below)it would make more sense.
Anyways if you have the stamina, resources and the time you could opt for CIMA..qualify and then sit for the final stages of ACCA and vice versa ofcourse.
I am not sure of the exemptions and the training you will have to go through for ICMAP... any members care to shed light on that ?

CIMA (Certified Institute of Management Accountants)
ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants)
CIMA is aimed towards Industry
ACCA is more broad and can be used in Industry/ Pracitse/ Auditing
You need experience for both qualifications, I know it is 3 years for ACCA as that is what I am studying but cannot say for definite how long for CIMA.
Your choice will depend on which field you would like to work in? Which area do you have experience in? Which qualification does your employer prefer?

Well, given the Pakistani scene very few specialised industries prefer CMA's (CIMA),....most prefer CAs and recently ACCAs.. any member from Pakistan care to shed light on this ?

Azeem, you could call it personal. I just don't see the need to repeat what someone else has said. Also, as a lot of people on the UK forum me included doubt the credibility of "Arslan" he claimed he was ACCA qualified at 18 but could not recount what it had taught him besides Auditing - nothing else.

I think the administrators/moderators on the forum need to look into allegations agaisnt the legend killer / arsalan.. so we have a memeber from India ??
If that is true perhaps the memeber legend killer ought to come out and share some further details so that any misconceptions are taken care of.
