asslam o alikum the examiner comments are now online on icap website for autumn 2004 attempt.donot believe on them.they are a total misguidence.because the examiner says one thing and the results says something else.
the examiner has commented on mod d papers in such a casual manner as if they are playing a game with us but in reality they r playing with our career.

bilal
Thats not the fact Bilal. I myself have studied these examiner comment to have guidence for my studies. First thing to understand is that examiner always expect students to have full command on the subject. Once you have full command on the subject only then you can understand what examiner is trying to communicate. When he says "a very basic question" then he means that it was a basic question for one who has gone thorugh all the course thoroughly. Remember .... you never get failed by ICAP if you deserve to get passed. There is always something wrong with papaer when you get a D grade.

Ali YOU ARE RIGHT BILAL. ICAP NEVER GIVE RIGHT COMMENTS ABOUT ITS PAST PAPERS .THE EXAMINERS KNOWS ONLY FEW WORDS LIKE "EASY,AVERAGE,DIFFICULT," AND "MOST OF THE DONE WELL " BUT EVERY TIME RESULT TOLD US A DIFFERENT STORY .
EXAMINER ALWAYS SHOWED HIS LACK OF INTEREST IN GIVING COMMENTS BY GIVING GENERAL COMMENTS.
AS A STUDENT OF CA PROFESSION I CANNOT ACCEPT GENERAL COMMENTS.THEY SHOULD TELL WHAT EXACTLY THEY WANT FROM STUDENTS ABOUT PARTICULAR QUESTION NOT GENERAL COMMENTS.

Ali
Well i agree with u ppl. Infact before commenting on students ICAP must look at it's paper setting criteria, as one paper setter start asking pure practical questions and the other one ask ratta base guestion and u don't know how to prepare ur papers. If u don't believe me just check it out the papers of winter 2004 Module E attempt.

yaar examiner comments are not only for 1 specific person's papers...we people dont know about others' papers, like i dont know how my friend has attempted the paper...so examiner's comments might be correct...

Ace
All comments are right & I totally agree with ICAP, because I want pass/qualify CA Insha-Allah while remaining with ICAP. Disgracing or opposing ICAP is a sin while you are doing or in connection with ICAP

"always trust on your parents after ALLAH, all others are deceptive"
hi...yaar freedom of expression is not a sin...so opposing examiner's comments is not a sin...

Examiner comments are really helpful for candidates re-appearing in the exams as well as the candidtes who appear for the first time. You just have to read these in a stable state of mind. When candidtes get themselves failed, they never think of it as their own fault. First of all you should admit your fault. You'll have to think "There was definitely something wrong with my paper othrwise I would've got passed". Look ....... there are always some people who get passed. There is definitely a difference between those who get passed and those who dont. Then why cant you become one of those who get passed.

Dear friend when ever students failed they admit their Faults by again depositing exams fee and form.As for as fault is concern ICAP itself now accepting its faults by making the announcement of passing marks.Which is infact very big question mark on icap policies.ICAP should issue the answer papers of its question papers to help the students to understand their mistakes.I think ICAP BABAs try to laugh over students failure in exams by giving such obsolete examiners comments. Is any person can tell how much and what he learn from thse comments.

Ali
DEAR OPHIE,
what i am saying is the why icap give its comments as general and on individual questions like, it was an easy question, simple question, straightforward question, then every body should be able to attempt it and pass the paper but the truth is that very few people get pass.icap should atleast admit that paper was difficult. MY teacher of IT2 in pac was saying that IT paper of the last two or three attempts can only be attempted correctly by MCS STUdent.

bilal
Dear Students

As far as my information about ICAp examination and paper checking system is concerned, it is quite flawless. Each question is checked by only one person. So no question arises about getting a bad impression if answer to one question gets messed up. After checking, numbers attained in all the questions are compiled. There are some cases that qualify for getting passed. There are some cases that qualify for getting failed. e.g if passing marks have been set to 50 and you obtain 55 marks then you are definitely pass. If you obtain 35 marks then you are definitely failed. Cases in which students obtain 40 - 45 marks will be selected for overall performance review. These cases are individually discussed for the number of attempts that have been availed by a particular students, performance by the student in other papers, level of dificulty of a particular paper etc. After consensus of the whole body, they make decisions about these cases. This was the story when ICAP did not use to have a certain passing percentage. I dont know the story afterwards. Guys ......... Just look at the candidates getting qualified.......they always use to be better than candidates who dont get qualified ........... Stop blaming ICAP for the wrong judgements made by yourself during exams and before exams. ICAP just want quality preparatio from you..........Thats all ......... I know at least 10 of my juniors about whom I was sure the they will definitely be chartered accountants and they are now mashallah....... There is a combination of hardwork and intelligence required. If you are more intelligence then you'll have to work hard ..... If you are not that intelligent then you'll have to fill the gap by workinh harder and providing inout with more study hours ........ Remember .... becoming a chartered accountaqnt is not easy but it is not that difficult either ........ Just improve your expression in english because most of students get failed because of bad english ........

Good luck to you all .............

very good explanation...I agree with u Ophie...
