Any idea whether CISA Review Manual 2004 and its CD is available!

or which is the latest edition available at karachi or Lahore, and where??

Though I do have a copy of 2002 Manual with me..

And Guybrush, whatz the job situation for a CA with CISA qualification in Pakistan and Middle East....salary range etc..any ideas?

I have 2003 mannual and 2002 CD, This is the situation at Lahore Though I have checked the Karachi Market through a rep. a friend at Patiwala Book Corporation, i found only 2003 manual.

What about you. I have learned through a friend that SRV books are also available but couldn,t find any any idea.

Please update me regarding your findings. I am very seriours for appearing in 2004 June attempt.

I have a degree in IT. Will taking ACCA help me in IS Auditing or i have to take CISA.
CISA is not very demanded in my country - Malaysia.. that's why i'm confused.

Hi Jen

ACCA would be a totally different line for you. Its a qualification related to the field of finance. From your post, it seems that you want to excel in the field of IS Audit. CISA is one of the premier qualifications in the field of IS audit and control. It would most certainly compliment your IT degree on your CV.

In Pakistan, there is a growing realization among large and medium sized companies about effective management of business risks in general and info system risks in general. In light of this development, all top and mid sized firms providing professional services are scampering to create Business risk/IS risk management departments in their firms. The companies themselves are looking to hire CISA qualified professionals for their internal audit department to look after IT side of things.

In the absence of local qualification for IS audit, CISA is being recognised as the qualification of choice for these companies and firms.

What kinda monetary compensation in Pakistan one would expect after acquiring CISA?

and what if CA is supplemented by CISA?

Any ideas? since you have done both.

as i have said before that CISA, as is the case with CIA, is a good supplemental qualification to have. I must say that i have seen only one case in which a person hasnt got any professional or technical degree and got the job solely on the basis of his CISA qualification. He is a friend of mine who is only a graduate and CISA, but also has done his ICAP articleship and was employed by SBP for a package of 30k+. So if SBP has set such a precedent, then i suppose that things do look good for CISA qualified ppl.... but then this is only my personal opinion.

I myself am employed due to my CA qualification. I did my CISA only recently.
