Will some body tell me what is deferred liability

Deferred liability is the liability, the time for settlement or payment or adjustment of which will be in future and not known. e.g. gratuity, which can be paid in the next year when the employee leaves, or it can be paid after 10 years when the employee retires, or after his death.
