1% SED on import - adnan2adee@yahoo.com - 12-12-2009

As we import security equipment, one of our govt customer ask us to use 1% SED (special excise duty) classification in Sales Tax invoice while sales tax has already been zero rated.
we have already paid Sales tax & FED on import so what SED is all about, pls share your knowledge?

Dear! u would b paying a duty @ 1% which may appear as FED or SED in ur Bill of Entry. There is'nt any difference among both. and the same is adjustable against the FED/ SFED charged on Sales/ Exports
