Why just "ACCA" you "Stink-Tanks"?? - TheOne - 05-18-2003

Why just withdrawing exemption to ACCA people!!! Why shouldn't this whole new format of edu. & exams. (like PE Bla Bla Bla) be abolished at all??? and why shouldn't all those who passed through this (Bla Bla back-door system) be required to be re-examined??? And why shouldn't we withdraw all exemptions to all world bodies (incl. ICMAP)???... because if World has got "Think Tanks" for the time being, we're "Stink-Tanks" of all times??? Above all, why shouldn't those accounting vultures be examined at least for "ONCE" who being simply B.Com and "Registered Accountants" became "Chartered Accountants" back in 1961???.... No!!!! perhaps it can never be done..!!!Because we're the one who are copied (for Stinking??)... we never copied the World for "Thinking"!!!!!..... Shame on us... Shame on Us... Shame on us...why the hell we, being self proclaimed leaders, preachers & "advertisers" of Islamic teachings don't learn to speak and accept the truth... the reality???

hi, u say cause ACCA's exemption been withdrawn so ICAP should stop examining the candidates?? (cant see any link) then u say re-examine all those who got through the 'back door', I think this back door is referring to ACCA exemption,,,, so one thing I cant be clear is whether u r in favor of those exemptions or otherwise??. ICAP does not exempt all world bodies (only significant 'bodies', u may call 'em 'booties' r given exemption, and now there's this new circular on the issue which I think reciprocates exemptions!!!)
Well, we r stink tanks no doubt on that.
I think in '61 it was lot toughter to even do B.com, for that matter, so it makes sense they were given CA degrees, I mean u should also question those who qualified without having to study IAS 39 and lots of other additions, if u realy believe your grounds r valid???? (I think they r not)
one more reason why ICAP dismantled the ACCA exemption was that people were failing FE 1 and 2 and then prefering to qualify ACCA and gain exemptions...(however I've HEARD that exemptions were brought in to favor some of the veterans' relatives, like their kids or etc)

My only point was that why so discretionary actions are there? Why not evaluate everybody alike??? Last point referred by you is not simply rumor... it happens in so many sectors... SRO are issued for exemption of duties or taxes upon certain item and after sometimes when job is done... exepmtion is withdrawn... that's the way it is... that was my only point that why so..? Either we were fool enough to allow exemption or we are fool enough to withdraw the same... this approach from a professional institution like ICAP stinks..!!!

I think we were not fools when we allowed ACCA exemption (we wouldnt have been fools either if we had NOT allowed exemptions) and I think that we aint fools when we draw back the ACCA exemptions (we would have been fools if we let it continue) <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
u r right, if the rumor is correct then its a very sad thing, and ICAP should ensure such things dont happen in the future, cuz the times are very turbulant and rather catestrophic and such 'mistakes' could be virtually fatal to the profession in Pakistan (cuz its all 'bout trust and faith)
I think one reason why ICAP was forced to lift the exemptions was cause people were using ACCA as the primary way to pass CA (I dont think if ICAP could ever have that in mind)

Don't bother yourself much... "Ignorance is blessing" so you just keep on polishing your medals of disbelief and decorating them upon invisible robe of your doubtfull belief... got it?? No? then you must also know that "Sleep in belief is better than the Namaz with doubt"... That's what "Babul-Ilm" said while defining about belief and doubt. Keep smiling. Everybody knows who smile most.
