Donated asset treatment - triniacct - 03-26-2011
A fixed asset (an escalator) has been donated by one subsidiary to another. However, when it was donated, the escalator was non operational. Repair works were done to the escalator, but it still remains non operational up until now, but can be used as a regular stairs.
How should this item be treated in the books of the recipient?
