CA is more about hardwork than being intelligent... There is an example of an A Levels student who got distinction in Economics in A levels, but failed Eco twice in CA...

Don't be over confident... If you have financial liabilities and have to support your family quickly, CA is certainly a risky option...

But yeah, you can do it in the first attempt as well... People have done it...

Don't make plans like 'giving CA a shot'... If you really want to do it, just step on it.

salaam all,

hi saad, u r very intelligent person, no doubt, nut this is one of the factors tht count for CA. u can definetly make it but take some things into consideration. to fail in CA exams iz a routine thing, ie, nothing new, some ppl take many attempts to clear a ppr. as sumaaan gave n example, there r thousands of such examples. if u want to get in job as early as possible n have some other personal probs, then think twice b4 getting into CA. it is not a hot cake.

why dont u think of other available options? i mean, engineering or BBA etc? these r also very good qualifications n will end in definite time period n will reward u financially as well.

if TIME is the biggest factor tht bothers u, then i will NOT advise C.A.

yes sure, y not. if farhan was born in US UK or Canada i wouyld have definately suggested him some other option but one thig should be kept in mind that getting these degrees in pakistan is not a big deal now. Its getting these degrees from best colleges/universities which are mostly private and reqiure atleast 3-4 lac for 4 years bach degree other wise ther is no fun in getting degree of BBA fr4om allama iqbal open university and then remaining as jobless and or if getting job, getting not more than 10-15k

CA is hardwork, yet CA is intelligence, yet CA is planning, also CA is uniqueness yet CA is too spiritual. Its a hardwork but its specially being completed for the man by ALLAH.

So if u are a hardworker, yet intelligent, yet positive and agressive learner yet spiritual and a true muslim u should definaltely go 4 CA.

I can give u a no. of examples of ppl completing CA just in 4 sittings.....

and it do take only 6 years after FSc unlike engineering's Bach of 4 years and then masters of 2 years plus additional work experiance or unlike mediucine extracting 5 years for mbbs and other 2-3 for FCPS etcc...

if u think u have matehmatical mind and u have analytical taste u can go 4 it...

salaaam all,
dear XBRL, i agree with u tht getting degrees from private institutions is very expensive. but many good institutions still ve lower (if not the least) fee charges. if u take BBA/MBA, IBA is probably charging the least fee among all the pvt institutions of pakistan. it costs PAK Rs. 28,000 per semester. i know it is too much for an avg. income-group person, but it is far too less thn LUMS (7 lac PAK RS for whole MBA) or CBM (PAK RS 56,000 per semester) or SZABIST which is no less thn others in this business. if u take MBA from University of Karachi, it costs Pak Rs. 14,000 per semester.
furthermore, i m not compelling mr. ahmed for MBA/BBA, i ve just pointed out one of the many options. he can even opt for engineering from NED university (the most respected engg. institution in pakistan) tht costs just pak. rs. 8,000 - 10,000 per year!!!

if v read the problem of mr. ahmed carefully, his prob is tht he wants to get in job as soon as possible n support his family. he also does not want to fail n waste time. in comparission to other professions, to fail in CA exams is much more frequent. plus, u r not sure abt whn u will complete all this. so, it might put mr. ahmed under additional mental stress if he fails in a subject or two during his CA bcoz he must ve set some targets tht he wants to achieve within certain time limits.

so i advised him not do CA. otherwise, i do not mean to dis-regard ICAP. i m not doing CA or ACCA etc, so my opinion is not biassed due to ne reason.

i hope u agree with it.

I totally agree with suman n farhan that u should not go for CA cuz ur success can never be guaranteed even if ur a very hardworking guywat i can advice u if u realy want to do Ca first do ACCA with that do ur B.com after doin ACCA u'll get exeption fron CA foundation n u have to give Proffesional papers that is Mod.E n F so take ur chance there if u get through with Mod,E then continue UR CA otherwise Atleast u'll be an Acca n u can even do MBA.

ACCA itself would take him three years and he'd also have to do CAT before ACCA... So ACCA would itself take some while and be a bit risky as well... And as we know, currently one cannot predict properly the future 'market' of ACCA...

If you're planning for MBA, its better to take the BBA,BSc in Accounting and Finance or BSc. in Economics route... Atleast you'd know that in four years you'd be able to complete your bachelors... With ACCA, its obviously not that certain...

There are other factors too that you should consider... Your financial stability and ofcourse where you plan to be five years from now!

A-0-A... well success in CA not only depends on hardworking but also ur luck is involved,,, I will go with others u must not take chances about ur future ,,n specialy when u r going to support ur family soon,,, dost kuch bhie karo atleast 4 to 5 yrs laganay hain abhie tumhain,,,, and ur position is mentioning that u must plan to do MBA or just like this ,, any equivalent degree program,,, any professional certification will be risky for u ,, I think,,,, now it is up to u,, okies,, best of luck ,,,,

Never look back If you wanna do something,,, but sometimes do it for ur heart,,,
