Can any one tell me?
Getting the job for ACCA or CA qualified is easy or hard in Pakistan.
What is an average salary for CA or ACCA qualified in Pakistan.
I would be very grateful for your help.

getting the job for acca is different and for CA is different. but I saw u mention in that topic that u were somewhere in england, so assuming u've done ACCA, well previously there wasnt a great deal of reception for ACCA qualified people, and the salary ranged from Rs.12k to Rs.20k (depending upon luck, urself, ur gender, ur back, (I mean how resourceful u r, by the back ), still the salary range is almost not very different, perhaps from Rs.15k to Rs.20k, but more importantly the lower limit has increased plus the average salary has increased plus the job opportunities have increased aswell than before.
but since u r a different case, u've done your ACCA from england, i.e. studied brit standards not applicable in Pakistan, tax laws that are not applicable, even the auditing standards are different......... so what is the logical implication, it should decrease your worth over here, well nothing doing, cause it actually increases your value,,,,,,,, as they've simply put it,,,,,,, "europe (america) ka gadha, pakistani champion (whatever relavent field) say behter hota hay" I'm not calling you a gadha, just telling you the plain idiom. and if u are a CA from ICAEW , then mutiply the above by 6 or probably 10 Me rulz

Dear Dar,
Brother you cant compare UK and Pakistan. I mean c'mon bro we arent the worlds 3rd biggest economy! ( i doubt it if we are even in the top 50) so dont go on that. The fact is that yes the ACCA market has impoved considerably. I mean personally I know ACCA's who got a starting salary of Rs30,000 and then there are others who didnt even get Rs 5,000. I believe that its a pretty accepted fact that everything here is dependent on your connection, as with any where else. But even back can only get you as far as getting a job is concerned, if u aint good theyll turn you around and give u a kick on the backside. If you have the ability then ACCA is a very good qualification and has growing prospects in Pakistan and abroad. As you have mentioned that you dont want to stay in UK, why dont you try and find employment in the Middle East?? As for Mr. SMK calling ACCA's clerks, well sir with utmost respect, grow up! Its a pretty darn open fact that ACCA's are being employed by the majority of the companies here. In fact some have even put preferrence status to ACCA. One such example is a leading foreign bank, which has told all the employees that in order to gain good increments as well as promotions they should do ACCA. OSA

Dear Omar
I totally agree with you, (with the following situation) There are 200 ACCAs One is Getting Rs.30,000/- and Remaining 199 are getting Rs.3000/- to 5000/- and the person which is getting Rs.30,000/- Can u just tell me 'HER' name Can u quote the name of that company which prefers to hire ACCAs, or that foreign bank ....?????? Yar when we do article ship in pakistan we get exposure of multinational companies, Public Listed Companies, the ACCAs which do articleship from UK, their exposure is of Beauty Parlours, Book shops, Shoe Store, Barber shop, (dont take it personal, it is a fact) so how can a company can hire that ACCA guy, now the example is being setup in general public "Jo kuch nahi karta woh ACCA karta hai" i hope you will not consider this comment as a KICK Edited by - smraza on Jul 27 2003 044911 AM

I don't agree with Omar Saleh Ahmed as well... In Pakistan, CA's certainly have a starting, an average, and overall salary more than ACCA's wherever you go...
However, this fact is valid for ACCA's only, not ACCA+CA's. And just stating an opinion, I THINK that it still will take round about 6-8 years more for ACCA to be completely acceptable as a proper qualification in firms here in Pakistan. Although, CA's will ofcourse again be preferred over them.

Hehehe... Omar, don't take SMR's word to your heart, he is just ragging you up a little because you had kind of downplayed the CA qualification (a touchy issue for all of us CAs!)
And dont worry, the situation isnt as bad as SMR is putting it to be for ACCAs , and no and i am not saying this because i am an ACCA, 'cos i am not. I am a CA. You just work hard and try to be as professionally competent as you can be, because that will only count in the end, even more so than your qualification. Actually the market for a qualified ACCA is of something in between Rs. 13-25,000 and getting higher as ACCAs are increasingly being accepted by businesses. P.S. Britain is not world's third biggest economy, Germany is. Actually its in this order 1) USA 2) Japan 3) Germany 4) UK 5) France 6) China (excluding Hong Kong) Source Top 20 largest economies in the world (GDP in billions of dollars) http://http//australianpolitics.com.au/f...mies.shtml Check out #12 in the list, quite interesting this and then check out the countries above and below it! The way its economy is growing, China might become world's largest economy by 2025. ________________________ Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates!
