I have to agree on that with Guybrush... Those 'special' benefits can provoke 'second thoughts'!

And thats what makes accountants believe 'tax planning' and 'expoiting loopholes' is the same thing!

My dear fellows! well after all this what we pronounce that we are evils! We are still best. I dunno why the hell pakistani companies are being compared with enron and firms as Anderson, i dunno which other profession has Code of ethics to be fully complied with. Are they engineers or they are doctors, or are the computer scientists with a code of conduct like accountants have an institute like ICAP is. Yes we are not pious but who is. Its not the profession but u, its not the vocation and technique but u, its not the atmosphere but u and its not the people but u.

One will be accountable in the biggest AUDIT and that’s an audit too so by the way its a Nobel profession. Allah will be doing our audit too...
My point is that its not the profession as such but the Pakistani mentality and the Pakistani culture of indiscrimination and the humiliation of minorities and the unequal wealth distribution which have made us all not the CA but all, materialistic. We all talk abt wealth and money and status and prestige and power. The only thing which happens with CA is that they have an industrial exposure unlike doctors or unlike the engineers, so they have better chances to be doing what u all say UNTRUTH AND UNFAIR view other wise every on in Pakistan who has the power is trying to exceed the limits.
I am the believer that if u have courage in ur self and u have the ethics in ur self u make the difference otherwise every one over here is from Arthur Anderson.

Hehehe... finally u seem to have understood what tax planning actually means! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

XBRL
There wasnt much difference between the ethics, professional standards and working style of Andersen and its rival firms. It was just that Andersen was the one that got caught... and that too only becuase the Enron scandal got a bit too much airtime on media and somebody had to be made the escapegoat.

Hi all!
We accountants are no doubt geniuses. Why not?
We can make a piece of junk into gold. Tax aversion is an art, and it is lawful. Governments make tax laws knowing what gona be happened. We capitalize these holidays which Governments knowingly give us. We are not breaking laws. We just need to do to make sure we should not cross the thin line of ethics while we are performing our professional duties. If any buddy is a member of any professional institution like IIA, IMA, or ICMAP, they have their own ethical guideline which might be good resource or reference to streamline us with our entrepreneurs.
In addition to tax services, these are just a tiny part for so called term ‘accountants’. We are very vast. We can make a piece of junk into gold, I repeat. We handle from big mergers to value creation. Any cost saving or any profit for any company we work if they make from our advice that’s mean we are paying back to our society way more than what we are doing bad stuff e.g. so called name ‘tax thieves’. Our net gain to our society is countless or MasterCard term price less, so be hold accountants we are geniuses... period.

Dear IU..
Kindly post your query only once in the appropriate section... It becomes easy for others to reply...

For some reason others including me might miss a thread, so you need not get demoralized if you don't get a response... Everyone's intention here is to help others

I'll make sure I myself double check all threads.

It is morally and ofcourse technically wrong to exploit weaknesses in accounting standards and artificially mould items as desired.

Well that is how the law gets matured. if non of the users of the law
