hi guys
i just want to know how would u rate these universities of pakistan which are offering MBA programs
(A)Bahria university

(B) Quaid-i-azam university,Islamabad

(C)NUST,Rawalpindi

(D)IBA, Karachi

(E)LUMS, lahore

ok i want all of u to rank these universities according to the following numbers
1 indicating extra ordinary
2 indicating excellent
3 indicating very good
4 indicating good
5 indicating average
* ok and the rule is that each university mentioned above should be given separate numbers of ranking
Every one is invited to take interest and give votes for this i think that would be helpful for me as well as for all of u too
thank u

I think it more looks like it as,

IBA
LUMS
NUST
Bahria
Quaid e Azam University

Although, the best advice is to speak with potential employers and see who they prefer, as at the end of the day its what employers like the most that matters and certainly not what we, the students, think should be the best choice.

Good Luck

LUMS is a good business school but was created only in 1986(87?) and therefore has a much smaller alumni and lesser exposure among the employers than IBA which is around here for more than 40 years. IMO it still has some time to reach the standard of IBA.

IBA right from its inception has been been termed as one of the best business school in Asia... and yes u read me right, Asia!

Quoted from IBA's website:

"Not only is the IBA the oldest graduate business school in the developing world, it is the first such institution outside North America. The IBA has earned the reputation of being one of the leading business schools in this part of the world. It was established in April 1955 in collaboration with the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. Later, it was associated with the University of Southern California. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) set up various facilities at the Institute. In its early days, fifty prominent American professors were assigned to the IBA, while 72 Pakistani faculty members received advanced degrees from Wharton and from the University of Southern California."

Just check out the wesbites of IBA alumni and IBA itself mentioned below and see for yourself where the IBA graduates are currently employed and what types of jobs they land into. In Pakistan, an IBA MBA is one of the elitest degrees one can have.

AoA guys ....... i just bailed out of CA after completing Module C ...... i gave the test for NUST and im thru ...... the reasons for the superiority are obvious

LUMS: Lots of money, superb campus, which gets u gr8 teachers and of course the culture.

IBA: Experience, 25 yrs of virtual monopoly in Business education, gr8 teachers.

NUST: NUST just started its MBA program frm 98/99, its got the repution for its engg colleges, at this point the campus and faculty which is being improved and considering the costs just Rs. 160,000 for its MBA its doin pretty well, its got gr8 (strict)discipline, but to be No.3 in such a short span is gr8, and once the H-12 campus is complete, its sure to give a run for thr money to LUMS/IBA. Last batch of internees managed to make it to MNCs which strictly select LUMS/IBA only.

Getting a degree from LUMS is much better than IBA

Infact, in reent asia mba rankings, IBA doesn't stands anywhere whereas LUMS is on 18th place

IBA has gotten somewhat old.

LUMS has excellent market reputation

NUST program is also good

1 LUMS
2 IBA
3 NUST
Dont know much about the competetion btw Bahria & Quaid but one thing is for sure that from QAU & Bahria you wont get that extra ordinary thing which you'll get from the toppests.
