Symantec, PwC teams on security solutions in India

Symantec Corp and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), have come together to offer end-to-end security solutions. The alliance combines Symantec’s security solutions and PwC’s Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) Services to help customers realize service and cost advantages through an integrated security “dashboard” approach.

The TVM services are an integral part of PwC’s Enterprise Security Business Model (ESBM), developed to help clients identify, create, capture and sustain the value of security. The integrated security dashboard would be supported by Symantec’s breadth of security technologies and services to provide customers with a comprehensive and balanced security solution.

Symantec also announced the launch of ManHunt Smart Agent for Symantec Host IDS in India. Symantec”s newest security solution allows organizations to manage their host- and network-based IDS events from a single console. Utilizing enterprise-wide, real-time event correlation, aggregation and analysis, organizations are now able to more efficiently and cost effectively assess their overall security situation.

Symantec ManHunt is an advanced network-based intrusion detection system that provides multiple detection methodologies to detect both known and unknown, or “zero day” attacks. ManHunt”s core detection capability uses protocol anomaly detection, signature detection with custom signature support, traffic state profiling and statistical flow analysis to identify intrusions and denial of service attacks, at speeds of up to 2 gigabits per second, dependent upon system configuration.
