Ernst & Young to host regional tax conference in Dubai

Ernst & Young, the Middle East's largest assurance and business advisory firm, will host a regional conference to address vital developments in taxation in the Middle East.

Prominent senior Ernst & Young tax partners and professionals from the Middle East, UK, India and Pakistan will participate in this event, which is being held under the name 'Effectively Managing the Fiscal and Related Regulatory Changes in the Gulf'.

This exclusive two-day event will take place in Dubai at the Grand Hyatt on March 23 and 24, and will explore innovative tax strategies and provide delegates with valuable insights into the fiscal and associated regulatory developments impacting business decisions in the GCC. Significant changes in tax regimes, current developments and investment incentives throughout the region (including cross-border opportunities and transfer pricing issues) will be discussed and particular attention will be given to the major tax reforms currently taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on the conference, Edward Quinlan UAE Country Partner stated, “In this dynamic and constantly changing economic climate in the Middle East organizations might find themselves entangled in a complex web of tax rules and regulations and in unfamiliar territories. Now more than ever it has become increasingly important for regional and global organizations to find new ways to align their tax strategies with their overall business needs, while continuing to meet their compliance obligations wherever they arise. This conference will provide delegates with greater knowledge and insights into tax changes in order assist them in formulating and developing more effective business strategies”

The conference will also include dedicated sessions on regional organizational structuring in the Energy & Utilities, Contracting and Services industries, which will cover structuring opportunities and highlight the pitfalls to avoid in the development of legal and tax structures.

Day two of the conference will see Ernst & Young partners invite conference delegates to one-on-one meetings in order to help review specific needs and discuss opportunities for enhancing their regional and global tax positions.
