There was a time when in the mid ninties we were
(1) World champion of cricket and hockey.
(2)we ruled the Squash for almost twenty years.no body came close to
us.one of our player was world champion for ten years.
(3) one of ur unknown player just came, saw and conquer the world snooker championship.

In country like pakistan a win in cricket or hockey was the only source of happiness for poor and disappionated people. but now i has finished as well.
we were known through out the world due to hockey and squash.but now we are rank 5th in cricket and hockey and none of our players are in the first 20 of squash and snooker.
This is really a disgrace and painful if u are a true pakistani. Before this decline we could have said proudly that only one department in which our country is exceptional, is sports.
i think the main reason of this are politicians.TO gain fame they aimlessly interfere with there matters.
WHAT u people think, are the reasons of ur decline,

if we are not world champions this only represents the failure of our sports management at international level...it doesn't proves that sports in Pk is declining...just see the road and ground in the evening and specially on sundays...u ll find the reality...

if grounds are full then where are the results.Dear maani in this world results only count and nothing else.
if u study for 6 hours a day and doesnot succeed,it doesnot mean that only those persons will pass who studied over 6 hours.A person might get pass after studying for just 3 hours a day.what it really tell u is that quality(results) matter and not the quantity(effort or talent)

our nation has ample talent in every walk of life, including sports. v produced many world class players n sportsmen. but the prob is tht v do not ve proper coaching, n proper academies. v, especially the mgmt of sports, r just happy n satisfied tht our ppl r so talented tht they can do miracles in sports without ne grooming. authorities do not do n do not want to do ne well planned things. they r contended in tht our ppl r doing good with out ne institutions, so why shud v take ne such step?

this is just a ridiculous thinking by our authorities. it is not limited to just sports. it prevails in many profession. authorities give a hand to every argument by saying th ppl r already very talented, they need no coaching, they will do for u, they r god gifted, etc

this same philosophy has kept muslims, as a whole, from advancing in the fields of science n technology. muslims ve always rested upon their laurels, insted of proceeding. muslims ve always taken pride in telling tht european nations were very backward, uneducated, poor, etc. n tht it were the muslims who guided them, it were the muslims who taught them latest education n other modern ways. but mulims just kept to tht, n later generations of muslims didnot do nething very comendable, except few exceptions.

the results??? these r obvious today. eurpoeans n other nations ve out classed muslims in science, technology, education, research, n in every modern technology. u know, out of the total number of research papers published all arround the world by qualified PhDs n researchers, more than 60% come from jewish scholars. n our rerspected entire muslim world produces less than 1% of this research.

so u see the difference??? result is tht muslim nations own the resourses, by cannot exploit them properly. how many oil&gas companies of international repute r owned by muslims?? despite the fact tht muslims own the largest oil&gas resourses????

reason is the same aforementioned philosophy of we muslims. i m not promoting a muslim vs. non-muslim debate. but the facts remain the same.

Now our cricketers have once again proved their talent. This victor against india in ODI is undoubtedly one of the biggest comeback in the history of pak cricket. This victory will surely has great impact on the future of this sport in our country.

Surely the upward trend in cricket has begun.we will lose some matches in future but one thing is pretty sure, potential is there.

Lets hope that we will insallah regain our glory in squash and hockey as well, in the very near future.
