I think its time now to provide senior members some Privileges like dedicated forums with restricted access ....... Admin should think it over ....... Members who qualify a certain seniority level (not the number of posts necessarily) should have some Privileges. I think we should start with members who have some professional qualifications. Chartered accountants, Acca's etc etc...... What do you think mates???????????????

First of all u should decide who is a senior member.
1. person who has made the most posts, or
2. Date from which u become a member,or
3. ur age,or
4.ur qualification,or
5. none of the above

I would go for (5).i think a person should be declared as senior member by the admin on the basis of the seriousity and genuity of posts he has created and replied on this forum.
If that is the basis then no. of people who are saying themselves as seniors on this forum, would not even find a place in semi-seniors.

Expecting a strong reply from seniors.Truth is always "karva".

than make bilal as admin moderator

Sohana, i dont believe in any seniority not because i am junior.i dont want to be called as a senior member.i want to be what i am.
I do respect senior members. But i just didnt like this topic "senior members should have privileges" and especially the fact that this post is created by a person who is a chartered accountant.ACA and accas already have some many privileges in life.what else they want.leave something for the poor.

And Sohana if i was the admin on this forum i would give u a title as the most VUL-AR girl on this forum.

bilal
o thank u very much
so nice of u
i love it

Keep the spirit going

This forume seems to be quite old but you people are still in the phase of defining basic things. Please visit members forume of www.myicwai.com website of Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. The section of their website is new but is very well moderated and only professional discussion in included.

why do people always pose themselve as scholars or as they are better than other members???????????? Mirza Bhai ....... if you dont like the orum then you dont have to visit it .......... its not the maturity of members that make it worth visiting ....... its the bond among the members that make them keep on visiting here ......... We have spent a hell of time here and atleast I am not ready for anybody joining a couple of days before and passing such remarks ....... it is because of this sort of posts that I've been compelled to demand for separate room for senior/professional members.

Hi,

"I think we should start with members who have some professional qualifications. Chartered accountants, Acca's etc etc...... What do you think mates???????????????"

A good suggestion...but
How they ll prove that they have these qualifications...

Hi...some members always talks about the quality of posts...can they define what ll be a quality post...
A good post in the view of one member might be a normal post for other member...even some ll consider the same as a bad one...bcoz every one have different judgment level and different interests...

I have been a member of this forum from a past few days. And i regularly have a Review of the recent discussion going out here.
Furthermore it seems as if this forum is demarcated into 2 sects
Juniors and Seniors. Day By Day the situation is getting worse.
And the members are critisizing each others. What agrivates me most though is that this critisizm and distaste generally comes from those who quite loudly bray and claim that they are Seniors.
Why oh why do they not listen to themselves speak. An opinion, whether in agreement or disent, is far from criticism. It is not in the spirit of debate or verbal sparring, to simply say 'you are wrong i am right'. It is not polite or justified to name call, to pick, to twist words, to slander. So many of you on this forum would make fine politicians, but i have not yet met a politician i would wish to have a conversation or a debate with.

I just want to state that plz leave this Rigid and pessimistic attitude.Stop this kind of personality clashes and concentrate on helping each other and beeing a valuable source of info for all, like a plant in a team. I hope u will consider my argument and will adopt a better attitude next time. Although i am myself a newbie but still i request u to Plz make this forum a community. Of which everyone can take advantage of, So i am against this idea put forward by Ophie to create Private Forums. Which will could only be viewed by "Seniors".

On a serious note, since this is a student's forum and many prospective students of Accountancy must be reading this so we should stop these sort of clashes.

"If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come."
If I could... Then I would... Turn back time!!
One thing I know .......... whatever the criterion of quality post will be ......... the conversation b/t you and swaalat will never qualify for it .......... <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

what do u want to extract from that conversation now?

Ace
This is the thing that i tried to explain in my post...and u provides the example...
The conversation between me and swalat is not valuable for u...but that might be valuable for me and him...and for some other members...
