My view was alwas that the profession of accounting is a dynamoc one as compared to that of other professions. If we see the future of accounting and audit in pakistan, there is much to change,as our economy is growing,we have to change especially with the introduction of ACCA and now ICAEW into pakistani market.
It can be seen that future is with foreign qualifications specially if these are obtained withpakistani focus Like ACCA (pakistani tax and Law) and ACA from ICAEW with pakistani audit and tax articleship.
In my view situaytion is changing rA\PIDLY AND IT IS NOT IN DEMAND TO BE A ca from ICAP only.
I think one has to be having ICAp CA as well as having +ACCA or ACA from ICAEW to be successfull in PAKISTAN.

This is a mis conception in pakistanies that if one has to live in pakistan then he has to complete his ACCA with Pakistani Law and Tax variants...

First of All as far as taxation is concerned...

UK Tax in one of the most structured tax in world specially tax planning portion in UK tax which is unfortunetly missing in Pakistani tax, The Complexities of Capital Gains, Tax treties and other factors made UK tax variant more viable option...

If a perason wants to choose Pk varint in Fundamental Level(Part 2) then he himself kills his one option of Advanced Taxation now he has only 3 options left while those who have studied UK Tax are having 4 choices(this is because ACCA has not yet offered students Advanced Version of Taxation for Part 3)...

Secondly there is no need to study Pakistani law because pakistani law has more indepth course contents and very difficult one with zero implementation...

Thirdly what is the need to explictly insert PK in UK based qualification???????..

Fourthly the person who has strong grip in UK taxation can attempt taxation of every developed country...

Lastly, your employer will not ask you that whether you have completed your ACCA with PK variant or UK variant, he knows that if you comming after qualifying then you must have to know things...

Comming back to the point, this time is not a time for generalisation but it is a time for Specialization...one must think vertically not horizontally CA after ACCA orACCA after CA similarly CIMA after ACCA of ACCA after CIMA is the pure wastage of time as it is horizontal approach... think vertically means think for specialisation rather than rotating your competances haphazardly...

I accept that this era is for mutiple qualifications but it does not mean to obtain same qualification with different names or brands...

I hope you will understand...

Muhammad Amir
