Well I want to know that what are the future career prospects for an ACCA in Canada plus what feild they can get into.
HEY DUDE!
CANADA IS ADOPTING IFRS in 2011 and ACCA is respoected in CANADA but in USA the US GAAP is still working and by 2016, US will also be IFRS compliant which means opportunities for ACCA there aswell.
Mr Ali Shan,

How misleading messages you are posting, Applicability of any professional body is not confined to the adoption of IFRS or GAAP, I don't know about the worth of CA(ICAP) and ACCA in USA and CANADA but it is confirmed that even if you have trained in an IFRS adopted country still you can work with local GAAPs as it is the same case in UK.

Regards,

Muhammad Amir.
well CGA Canada has granted full exemptions to ACCA affiliates, it means that ACCA is a recognised qualification overthere and obviously future of ACCA is bright in Canada.

Dear 4th Element,

There might be some other reasons if ACCAs or CAs are not acceptable in USA please visit www.acaus.org for further information but one can't say that the reason behind unacceptability is IFRS or GAAP.

Regards,

Muhammad Amir
Well Mr. Amir,

Whether you agree or not but it does create a difference whether you are trained in IFRS compliant environment or US GAAPs. These are the two main reporting frameworks with some differences although they are now moving towards convergence.

In Big Four firms outside Pakistan, you can find separate divisions for audit clients reporting under IFRS and those reporting under US GAAPS with separate staff, Supervisors and Managers.

However, there are people with successful transition from one framework to another.
