Are you guys suggesting that ACCA is not worth the hassle and therefore people should go for the chartered qualifications and if yes , i have heard that PWC offers its employees option to take up either ICAEW or ACCA, why is that?

Well living in Pakistan its not worth the hassle unless u r looking for employment abroad. I mean whats the use studying ur ass off and getting a job worth 16,000 bucks and a lower middle lever management perfprmance. The PWC u r talking abt is the UK one I guess. Try Ferguson here and see the response u will get.

Do you know what the difference is between PWC (UK) and Ferguson in Pakistan. You might just be surprised.

Anyway my life is ruined, as per your forum,"jo kuch nahi karta woh ACCA kerta hay" ( or other idea is just stay away from pakistan until ICAP and ACCA become good pals.
No I dont so suprise me mate!

Problem is that i would like to work and live in Pakistan. Here i am discouraged to join ICAEW by my employers, who by the way are ICAEW qualified, as they say ACCA is no different to ICAEW and I will be wasting time and should concentrate towards my experience. Is there an easy way out. Do you think that foreign companies operating in Pakistan would atleast realise ACCA. Or do i join a foreign company here and then ask them to transfer me to pakistan branches, then they wont be able to treat me differently !? or shall i come to pakistan pick up ICAP books and go back home. study come back to pakistan for exams but then would they recognise the experience i gain in the UK and count it towards article ship. Or do ACCA and then specialise in taxation and go to pakistan to work but the tax rules will be different! emmmm then corporate treasurers is another option. Am i in the wrong profession, should have done something else like medicine, 5 years bog standard, less stress and alot more money.
