Info about registering for CFA - ferri - 08-11-2004

Dear Readers!

I hope there anyone who can give me some info about registering for CFA.
I have done B.com from Punjab University and after that I passed my ACCA exams which makes me an Affiliate.
During my ACCA I didn't opt for the Bsc Degree offered by ACCA.
As for experience i have 2 years articles completed which is 2 less than what is required for the CFA registeration.
The thing i want to know is if I can register for CFA with my current degrees?
AND is there anyone who can give some info about LIFA which is moreover similat to CFA,i think.

plz anyone give me an reply.
THANKS

CFA Institute would register u, if u have completed all of ACCA examinations..ACCA has stated that its final examinations are equivalent to Masters Level yr 1. But to be on safer side complete ur BSc Project as it would assure ur Graduate status.

LIFA is a copycat qualification of CFA. It is recently introduced. It does not have any sort of recognition near to CFA...LIFA people are just earning money so thats why they have reduced rates...Do not fall into it....Recognition is all what matters.....

Last but very important CFA qualification is meant for people involved in investment decision making in any form...so your 2 yrs of experienxce must fall into this other wise it is irrelevant....CFA has recently revised its experience requirements.....check them from their website.....

I must tell u CFA is a big big qualification ... umust have heard people getting enormous salaries having CFA in their bag.....but beware they have decided to be CFA.....not CA or getting numerous qualificaTions... if u really really want tobe in this field work out how to get required experience ....plus the level of study is at different level...ACCA looks all easier when u start studying CFA>>LET me put this way CFA starts where ACCA CA ends....

Think carefully before making a decision...Best of Luck

I've learned-
that you can get by on charm for about
fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.
