Don't mean to put you off,.. I tried to get a frim offer me a place after i did my ACCA certificate stage... I was qualified enough but no one was ready to offer me a place.. wrote to some 70 plus firms all over UK, Scotland and N Ireland...

apparenlty there aren't enough visas for training in the UK.. some firms wrote to me that I did not stand chance since most of these visas are used up by accountancy students having graduated in the UK (foreign students). I had some guys articling with me in Lahore who had managed to do their ICAEW Foundation in the UK... but came back since they couldn't get a place in a decent UK accountancy firm...

but times have changed... try u rluck,. better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all )

further to the above two replies may i also remind u that ICAEW only accepts a MAXIMUM of 12 months Pre-Registration experience, which means even if u r FULL ACCA mamber with 3 years experience your prior work experience will not be fully taken into account and you will still have to complete the remaining 2 years experience requirement after registering with urself with ICAEW

If ICAEW is your ultimate goal, why not do that without ACCA?

Hi

I am from London and ACCA qualified.

I read that some of the ppl are in ICAEW after ACCA, Firstly can I ask y r u interested in ICAEW after ACCA. I guess that u may want to be better than ICAP members in Pakistan.

After I completed ACCA, I applied for jobs in firms in UK and I have been offered job and some firms alo offered mr training contract leading to examinations of ICAEW and ICAI. But I preferred no to do ACA after ACCA. One thing more if you are ACCA member and have five year experience then u can apply for ICAEW membership straightaway which and will be admitted to ICAEW membership. Therefore even if you want top be ICAEW member than still u dont need to pass ICAEW esaminations.

If you hold practicing certificate issued by ACCA then you can audit in 80 countries of the world, including all countries in EU, Australia, South Aferica and NEW Zealand.

After ACCA you will have very good chance to securing training contract leading to examinations of ICAEW, but for this you have to be in UK. iF you think u wiill apply for training contract from sitting in Pakistan and will get it then this thing is out of question.

If you need further advise frop me an email on mroneflower@yahoo.co.uk
