Some say i need to do B-com or BA first

Dear Sheryar!
You will have to pass PPT ( Pre-entry proficiency test) and go to CA module-A papers. You have to attend classes at a registered coaching centre (RAET) for four modules of CA Inter. Then you will join a CA firm for your Four Years training period and pass module E and F during this period. No need to pass BA or B.Com.
Another route is Pakistan institute of Public Finance Accountants. You can take classes for its three stages pass it in minimum 1.5 Years and join the CA in module C. That is you need not to appear in Module A and B. Aftermath is the same.
You can visit

You also have an option to pass the ACCA exams, (min 3 years) at the end of which you will be required to articel for 3 years (instead of four) and be required to pass only the professional exams of ICAP. On passing the certificate stage of ACCA you will also be able to earn Bsc (Accounting) from the Oxford Brooked University, UK (on submission of a research paper). So you earn an internationally recognised accountancy degree along with a bachelor's degree.

Going for a B.com or a BA is no longer worth the time and the energy anymore.

Dear Atif

- sheryar - 09-16-2004

Dear Pracs
Thanks for your help. But i am some what relucntant to do my CA.

- atif - 10-08-2004

Dear Sheryar,
Sorry for delay in replying. Actually, I was busy in some private work. PPT are held in all major cities in Pakistan. Please contact your nearest RAET. Addresses of these can be found from
www.icap.org.pk
They will guide you.
Regarding doing CA, it is a tough job but not impossible. I have met a number of persons who have qualified CA in 6 years. So, it means that all the myths are wrong. Only your committment is necessary. You should study if you have the confidence, tolerance and abilities to qualify CA. Abilities may include but not limited or dependent on
English
Mathematics (General)
An Analytical Mind
All the above should be excellent and you will not find any trouble in the accountancy profession.
