I would like to have comments of all on Remixes of old songs, the new groups (paki and Indian both) are picking up the old songs, remixing them using the pop music, using almost naked girls in their videos, what are they trying to prove?????
and second, Is the popularity of old songs reducing day by day due to these remixes ? or these are still popular???
I like some remixes for e.g. Kishore Kumar Remixes by Kumar Sanu, and some remixes of Bally Sagoo.

hi

i think there is no harm in remixing old songs as long as they do justice with the melody. recent remixes from every tom dick and harry sound terrible and their video shoots are extremely vulgar. this is a fact the singers know themselves and they rely on videos to get 'em hit.

bally sagoo initially remixed some good numbers specially with GUNJAN, after that he started doing the same rubbish everyone else is doing. remixes by Bombay Viking sound OK to me.

remixes can never take place of the originals, originals are ever green and real listeners will never forget legends like Rafi, Lata, Talat Mehmood, Kishore, Mukesh, Aasha, Manadey etc.

in pakistani pop Ahmed Jahanzeb, Fuzon and this new boy Ali Zafar are composing good melodies and maintaining a good balance between Commercial music and Music for music's sake. i think Pakistani pop is far ahead of Indian pop at the moment.

I agree with my friend azeem

Paki guys are doing very well

And really indians are no match. they are just using woman in their songs as compared to us.

As i said earlier, i know one of them personally i.e zulfi EP fame and i tell u he is such a natural guitar player. Pakistan is showing a lot of potential. I hope they all do not use woman just to support their music

atlast we eventually agreed to something )

whi is "ZULFI EP FAME"......is he in Karachi? is he a new pop star?

hi

any comments about fuzon's new (unreleased) song "Zindagee Se Bhara"

I think the popularity of old songs (originals) will never decrease, those songs are ever green,( RAFI, LATA, MEHDI HASAN, GHULAM ALI, KISHORE DA). Thats teh mere reason of everyone remixing them. I think indian's are good at remixing the oldies ( Bombay viking, raghav's latest releases are my personal favs) where as pakistani guys are far ahead with pop music. And i am pretty sure indians can't beat us pakistanis in this field

My favourites

Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Greenday
Coldplay
U2
Radiohead
Linkin Park
Evanescence
Eminem
Chevelle
.
.
.

I could go on for hours

Hip hop as a whole sounds too formulaic and cliched for my taste. Although I do admit there are a few exceptions.... Snoop dog's just a pot head though.......
