Well Ophie is the one who has shown remarkable RESTRAINT. Cerainly, I cannot if this guy comes infront of me. Call it my immuturity, call it my blood..call it nethg...I certainly cannot....even after receiving...all the quality education I could have...But I am trying my best...to restrain my feelings from this forum...sorry If I sliped anywhere.

Dear Ophie, how do u restrain urself so much? Is it that u r a peaceful kind of guy or what? I just feel that if u have to live inside PAKISTAN u should always have ur horses ready. And that u should be prepared & capable of replying back when someone tries to hurt u. Thats one thing I have learned from my father. If u dont have money, power & links in this country u r already dead. You should be strong enough that the other guy gets the message that if I touch this guy he wont spare me too. That way, that guy just refrains from touching u. This is the only way to live in Pakistan. The other way is to be submissive and live like a mouse. Pracs u r lucky to live in PEACE in UAE but I m sure u know how things are here.

ummm... guys, CA was asking for tips to woo his bonnie lass and here we are, fighting over non-issues. Lets not stray from the topic. Its something relevant to us all.

Btw CA, you yourself are in the best position to decide instead of asking us, because only you know your girl's likes and dislikes. Base you decision on her preferences more than anything else. With experience, i've learnt that even simple things can make great gifts, although special ones do matter once in a while, but if given on a regular basis, gifts should consist of simpler things. Now i wouldnt like to give choclates each and everytime I meet her... not unless I want her to become a 600-pound cow!

How to dry the flowers, then it depends on what is the purpose of drying the flowers, If you just want to perserve the bouqet you have recived then simply let them dry but do keep them away from direct sunlight. simply bind the whole bouqet with a thread and hang it for drying, it will keep its shape even after drying.

and if you want to dry the flowers for card decoration then you can leave the rose buds or flowers in your books for few days... ( i do not know any better place(

nad as far as card making is concerned then i used to draw cute teddies, colour them, and paste tehm on ur cards. use glitter, ribbons.. just do a bit effort nad use ur fantasy i am sure your lady will like it no matter how UGLY the outcome of ur efforts is.. kidding

i hope thats help enough..

it will help a lot
but in shops we usually see printed cards so how to got new cards th written on it
n after dry flowers in books for cards how to put it on card i mena the source to seal it on card
n i have to buy a chart to make cards?hmmmmmmmmmm

- jbladeus - 01-09-2005

Well, i was going to suggest blow-drying them or ironing them out, but Huma came to the rescue and taught us dumb accountants the correct way to such things. Thanks

And whats the deal with dry flowers? You certainly aint gonna give her dry flowers as gifts.. now would you? Wasnt it upto her if she wants to retain the wet ones in a dry form or in a wet form. May i remind you that there is a SECP requirement which explicitly states that they should retain such flowers for atleast five years or a new relationship, whichever comes first after which they can dispose them off in a manner of their choice.

Ummm CA... dont want to sound too chauvanistic or macho, but i wouldnt recommend you making card with teddy bears on them. Might give wrong impressions to your lady. You wouldnt want to look like a sissy or a kid in front of her. Mashallah you are close to being a professional, go for something classy and elegant with a good message.

Yeah you can buy the chart papers and make the cards.. Up here in Denmark we can buy simple cards adn give the personal touche to them...

As for teddies,, why is drawing teddies childish?? you guys love to give teddies away,, but y not drawing them on cards.. anyway its up to CA what he likes...
Although i myself like to keep the card simple when it comes to my fiance. I used to write poems and mostly use pencil while skecthing something..

As for how to place the flowers on cards,, then use glue,, what else..

hopefully that will help you a bit..

p.s. IRONING THE FLOWERS;;; i could not help my laugh..

hm i love teadybears ok
ok i got all
thanks

- AvgJoe - 01-10-2005

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply but I decided to refrain from posting for a couple of days.

Well, the purpose of my message was that U do not need to buy her something expensive to impress her. You just have to use ur imagination, give a personal touch & show tht u care & think that she is important. Most girls just love teddy bears (For some unknown reason, I think they are useless but well...nethg goes in love or war).

Whats with the dry flowers? Man u dont need to dry those flowers! She can do it herslef (if she wants to). Give her fresh looking flowers! Pick them urself, tie a ribbon to them, arrange them nicely etc etc just to give a personal touch. Almost all girls love fresh RED roses. I am against big bouque's. I did use these when I proposed her but she couldnt keep them anywhere (u know...PAKISTANI girl, pakistani home...suspicion). So, she kept the single red rose which I was holding in my hand when I proposed her & also the small bouque which I had made myself (she did dry them...) Besides, she already knows that u can get a bouque ready made from a shop....no BIG deal...any guy with money can do that to get a girl here...she knows how DESPERATE ALL GUYS are in PAKistan to get a girl.....So try to be DIFFERENT & DISTINCTIVE...

For cards, well my art teacher (at college) taught me how to make one using Red & grey charts. Its a long procedure but......I was quite happy with the results....it was better then the professional printed ones. U can also use silver pens to make one on a dark blue background. U can also buy ready made cards & then add ur personal touch to them. This is just a MUST !!! You can write poetry, use glitter, sticking stars (not the cheap cartoons plz), small i love u hearts....nethg. I didnt make ne teady bear on the card though.

If u have to write poetry, I would highly recommend making ur OWN poetry....girls just adore this...and with a bit of imagination u can come up with it....just try...for a start...pickup some verse from somewhere & try to alter it in ur own words to suit ur needs. PLEASE just dont do CHAPPA...without any sense...If u just throw in poems from somewhere, she would guess it & then perhaps think u r trying to flirt with her. So be a bit cautious here (especially if she knows that u r not good in these things...card making...poetry etc).

So, well even if u r not good at this stuff (art, card making, poetry) like most accountants (and me too)..then I would suggest u to atleast make an effort even if the outcome is clumsy. For example, my GF knew that I was just ZERO at such stuff...but when I made an effort for her...she really got happy...girls love attention..

Be careful though. Girls in Pakistan arent sure whether a guy is flirting or is really INTERESTED in her. SO if u try to be too macho & play too cool...she might think u r flirting....On the other hand, if u try to be too much PAGAL, DEEWANa, DEVDAS type she might get scared...and go away...She might think that u have nothing else to do in the world except this & that u are a "useless NAKAM boy". Also, dont be too childish coz that gives the message that this guy is a sissy and mummy-daddy boy. So play safe within these extremes.

Lastly, I dont know why...but girls just love to hear their "TAREEF". Appreciate everything in her (only if it does exist or can exist..again if u overdo...she would guess he is flirting). But be careful, leave the appreciation of the physical features until u have said I Love U & u two have some understanding. Coz, she might think this guy is just concerned with my physical self.

Hope the tips help.

Cheers,
AvgJoe

PS Once again, these are my personal views based upon my own experience...not a bible to follow. So follow what ur heart says.
