Computer Based Exams (CBE) in ACCA - AvgJoe - 01-11-2005
Hi,
Has anyone given the CBE (Computer Based Exam) in ACCA? I guess, one of the obvious disadvantages is that u cant get any marks for working, if ur final answer is wrong. Are there any other significant disadvantages? Moreover, does anyone know whether CBE marks are shown as "CBE" on the certificate u eventually get?
And are there any professional drawbacks, like problems in getting into the big-4 here in Pakistan ? (I know its a silly question, but still....)

A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS SO, I'LL GO ONE BY ONE......
FIRSTLY...
GETTING MARKS FOR WRONG WORKING BUT CORRECT IN-PUT OF ANSWER
IS A BENEFIT OF CBE.
THE ONLY DRAWBACK OF CBE IS THAT...YOU CANNOT EXPRESS YOUR OPENION IN WORDS.... OR EXPRESS YOUR OPENION TO THE EXAMINER...
IN THE CERTIFICATE.......YOU GET IMMEDIATELY AFTER EXAM DOES STATE "CBE" WITH MARKS STATED IN PERCENTAGE....E.G 58%...
FINALLY THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION..........THE BIG-4'S
YOU CAN SAY IT FOR THE BIG 1 BUT SOMETIMES..AND ONLY IF HAVENT SCORED BETTER IN THE PAPERS AFTER 1.2..
BUT DONT WOREY FOR THIS AS ITS RARE......
FURTHER QUESTIONS WILL BE ENTERTAINED.

THE DRAWBACK CAN BE IN THE MAIN PAPERS LATE IN PART-2 2.4 & 2.5
