HELP, AAT - sajjad_dar2000 - 07-21-2003

Dear Friends

Aslam O Alikam

Actually I would like to talk about AAT (Association of Accounting Technician)

What is AAT?

AAT is costing and management based qualification AAT is supported and sponsored by CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS.

The Association of Accounting Technicians offers practical training and qualifications to improve your skills and knowledge of key accounting tasks; equipping you to perform a range of accounting functions with confidence.

If you're looking to improve your prospects and earning potential - and to get the rewards you deserve, you've come to the right place.

AAT Established in 1980 to provide a recognised professional qualification and membership body for accounting technicians; the AAT now has over 100,000 student, affiliate, full and fellow members worldwide.

AAT is supported and sponsored by CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS.

The AAT is committed to improving standards of competence and professional development in accounting and related areas.

But unfortunately at the moment AAT is not offered in Pakistan. I am planning to open the AAT base in Pakistan, but I need your help to open the base.

Could any one help me out regarding above matter and advice me what is the procedure to open any new base in Pakistan?

Regards

SAJJAD DAR

U must first find out whether AAT are willing to conduct their exams in Pakistan. An AAT base would not be of any importance if the exams are not going to be conducted.

Dear sajjad...
i dont mean to discourage you in any sense, but what you're trying to do is going to late A LOT OF TIME, although it is a brave and helpful step... Take CIMA for instance, they were planning to open a proper CIMA body here in Pakistan two years ago, and you know why they haven't been able to even open a proper office in Karachi?... Only due to the stupid political structure of the world that has recently over the past couple of years been in a shabby and threatening position...
The desi guy from London who's in charge of ACCA in Lahore, (his name just slipped out of my mind), he himself acknowledged the continuous postponing of a 'proper CIMA body' in Pakistan due to political disturbances after 9/11, because he was one of those professionals who were introducing CIMA in Pakistan.
