can some body tell me some thing abt the event of Long term capital managmetn that occured in 1998
plz plz plz also tell me some ways to get info on short selling n leverage related to pakistan...

Read "When Genius Failed The Rise and Fall of Long Term Capital Management" by Roger Lowenstein. It's definately a good read to get an insight into the issues.
For general news coverage on the disaster, I'm sure you can get tons of good articles by searching yahoo or google.
