Make written prectice , you may try sending letters to newspapers on different issues, and read newspapers for vocablary.

my theory is that........you can't learn too much in 3 months .......actually if your english is good generally you will pass....the books are only for little bit of grammer and some vocabulary...
also you can't learn 2000 words like this.....
so my advice is..

for vocabulary,idioms etc....PBP study text
for grammer..................Wren&Martin.
composition..................your own skill and previous knowledge of english language+ some practice..

don't worry about english if you know even litle bit of it......

In my view, if you have sound ENGLISH background; I mean, having good base, you don't require even a single book on ENGLISH for the preparation of Paper <A1> - Functional English (FEN) for ICAP exams especially.
If you want a detail study, then go through the book;
CA - STUDY TEXT BY PBP (Pvt.) Limited.
PAPER A1 - FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH (FEN)

NOTE This book is just a collection of extracts of materials from B.Sc. English Grammer book by "Professor Zia-ur-Rehman Khan".

I honestly didnt study one bit for the English exam in module A but the reason for that was my A level background apart from that now passing English is easier as they do not give vocabulary anymore the vocab that does come is more general knowledge one. Though alot of students lose marks in precis/comprehension now, my advice would be to read newspaper every morning. Improve your general english as much as you can. Also make sure that you write an essay and a letter once a week and have that checked by your teacher or anyone in your family who has a good command over English.
