ACCA / CIMA / CFA / CPA - Which is the best ? - zulfiqar - 08-31-2003 Tell me which is the best and WHY ? - smraza - 08-31-2003 we take consultancy fee dear S M R - Muhammad Nauman - 08-31-2003 Elaborate ur question. In which context salary, repute or what? Furhter with refrence to Pakistan or abroad? - smraza - 08-31-2003 Hey Nauman, I have the flat rates, but i think you have area wise rates or may be slab rate S M R - zulfiqar - 09-01-2003 I was asking with reference to Salary ? - Muhammad Nauman - 09-01-2003 Yes raza bahi My rates are different for new clients and corporate clients. but as a goodwill gesture for a new client i am giving some tips After qualification the salary also depends on your luck and other circumstances like country or city in which u works.. Qualification only guarantees the minimum salary whcih u will get. for maximum there is no limit. if u want to join a profession then plz do not emphasize only on salary. and the comparison u want is very subjective in nature and no one can give a conclusive response on this. In my point of view CPA and CFA are better then ACCA / CIMA. Edited by - Muhammad Nauman on Aug 31 2003 105545 PM - smraza - 09-01-2003 Look at him nauman, he has still not mentioned that whether he is talking with reference to pakistan or abroad, oooh bhai, if u are talking about pakistan, no professional body is there to break the monopoly of CAs, the ACMA people were the only victims, but ACCA, CIMA, CFA or CPA are also on the hitlist so please zulfiqar sb. first of all elaborate the question. anyway nauman has given good comments. S M R - Bowman - 09-01-2003 1- CFA 2- CPA 3- CIMA 4- ACCA - zulfiqar - 09-02-2003 Thank u for ur replies , Yes , SM Raza , i m talking with reference to Pakistan OK Nauman , i ll not talk about salary i was asking coz i have done my MBA in FINANCE that is why , i was confused as to which a/c qualifications will be better for me ? - zubair - 09-03-2003 If you are planning to live and work in Pakistan... no doubt ICAP membership is THE best as it is well reco. with in the geographical boundaries of Pakistan. overseas scanerioo is different. I believe a person who is committed to being a a dedicated, hardworking and honest employee with in pakistan only gives little weight to the international repu. of the awarding body again ICAP is top of the list. However, ICAP has grown out of passive development. ie it did nothing to enhance its public image except making membership entry a real challange to achieve. If you believe you are geared for such a challenge, advice is to go for ICAP. otherwise seek alternatives. - sumaaan - 09-03-2003 There's a certain level to which you can earn if you're an ACCA, CIMA, CA and you DO NOT HAVE AN AUDIT FIRM. Your promotion wave becomes stagnant at a point. No doubt, ACCA, CIMA and CA qualifieds earn a lot, but then again comes the barrier which restricts you from progressing. However, thats not the case with CFA. The position that CFAs can reach and the amount they can earn doesn't stop at a certain point, just as in the case of an Actuary. But that statement isn't intended to reduce the significance the former mentioned qualifications nor it can. The following are the 'nature of jobs' a CFA qualified can undertake Accountant Actuary Auditor Bank Examiner Bank Lending (corporate) Business Appraiser Client Services Manager Compliance Examiner Consultant on Investment Manager Selection/Investment Policy Corporate Chief Financial Officer Corporate Controller (not finance/not investment) Derivatives Analyst Director of Finance Director of Mutual Funds Economist (involved in investment decision-making process) Financial Journalist (Editor/Reporter/Publisher) Financial Planner Internal Corporate Planning Analyst Internal Management of Investment Firm Investment Banking/Corporate Finance Consultant Investment Sales (consultative) Investment Strategy Formulation Investor Relations Management Consultant (excluding personnel) Marketer (of investment management services, funds, securities, etc.) Mutual Fund Sales/Trainer Options/Futures/Commodities Analyst Portfolio Administrator Portfolio Manager Portfolio Performance Evaluator Portfolio Strategist Product/Software Developer (of investment- related products/services) Professor/Instructor (investment, finance, and economics, or non-financial business administration) Quantitative Investment Analyst Real Estate Investment Manager Risk Analyst (securities related) Securities and Investment Analyst Securities Regulation Securities Trader Securities Underwriter Stockbroker/Registered Representative Valuator of Closely Held Business Valuator of Mergers/Acquisitions Venture Capital Investment (not securities) - smraza - 09-03-2003 S M R - Pervez - 09-04-2003 Hi Raza! The symbol can convey a lot of messages! Are you A)Susprised -one fellow can wear so many hats! B)Paralyzed -you never thought there are people smarter than CAs. C)Disgusted -how dare she said "CAs' promotion waves get stagnant" D)Shocked -you finally realized how you wasted six prime years .............of your life E)All of the above F)None of the above - then you owe me an explaination Take Care Edited by - Pervez on Sep 04 2003 054242 AM Edited by - Pervez on Sep 04 2003 054827 AM - smraza - 09-04-2003 No need to explain, Pervez, you seem genius enough to understand that, anyways Sumaaan is always in a defensive mood regarding ACCA or anyother qualification except CA, why sumaaan jee ?????? I wasn't 'defending' ACCA or CA, I just didn't want to suppress the significance these qualifications have in their stem by comparing them with other qualifications. |
