CA vs CMA vs PA vs CCA - Muhammad Adnan Arshad - 01-28-2006 All of us make discussions all about CA, CMA, PIPFA, ACCA etc. But I believe that very few of us have an exact knowledge that what are the main differences between the various types of accountants? So, is there anybody who can share his/her views on this issue. What are the major areas/fields of distinctions & similarities b/w different accountants. *Accountant (simply) *Chartered Accountant/Financial Accountant; *Cost Accountant; *Mangement Accountant; ( or Cost & Management Accountant) *Public Finance Accountant; *Chartered Certified Accountant/Accounting Technicians (UK vs PAK). «·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`·» «.......... Category B serves the management of entities by aiding them in planning, control, decision-making & furnishing the reports required by law of land (compliance of corporate law). Since Accounting is evolving towards uniformity and due to increasing implementation by all professional accounting bodies of IES (International Education Standards), developed by IFAC, there is no substantial difference between syllabi of different bodies. The only difference now is quality of exams papers or more appropriately "System of Assessment" All qualifications prepare for both categories of Accountants. An experienced ACMA or ACCA can do the audit with same effectiveness as ACA if allowed by law of land. So after some years of experience, majority of accountants irrespective of their qualifications behave similarly and show same level of competence. In the end, all conform to common intelligentsia of accounting profession and transform into homogeneous community of professional accountants. In the end I will add the following note that one should try to increase and develop his professional knowledge & skills in pursuing whatever accounting qualification. It will pay him. Regards - Muhammad Adnan Arshad - 01-30-2006 thanks KRSS for your good reply. but please explain about all types of accountants. «·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`·» «.......... Any qualified professional Accountant can have those titles. Simple accountants are B.Coms and diploma holders, with less competency than the Professional Accountants |
