All you need to do is prepare for the subjects of your choice [ choose any subject from here http//cie.org.uk ]. You will need to download the syllabus and buy books on the relevant topics, if you plan to appear privately (i.e., without the aid of any A Levels school or college). Exams are held twice in a year; May-June and Ocotber/November. For registration, you'll simply go to http//britishcouncil.org.pk and download the application form, or visit any of the given bank branches to collect and fill in the form. Just keep an eye on the deadlines, do past papers thoroughly, and VOILA, you'll finish your A Levels. Oh and yes, do take at least three subjects. Thats the minimum. The rest, you'll find on the sites.
P.S. the new syllabus has arrived. Good LUCK!!

ok thx

but i want to know is there any pakistani institute here in karachi where i can do A-level from?

- ausmanpk2001 - 06-12-2006

yaar, there are a lot of colleges in karachi which offer a level tuition. some famous ones are beaconhouse, lysem & there are many more but i dont remember their names. you can also contact british council they may be able to give a complete list of colleges offering a levels classes.

Sorry man, I know nothing about Karachi, its not my city, so I guess you need to try ausman's suggestion.

- ausmanpk2001 - 06-14-2006

you should review your decision. if you want to do bachelors form pak, then it will only be time wastage.

- ecstatic_mirth - 06-15-2006

I wont be a time wastage if you are interested in Business subjects e.g., Accounts, economics Business studies, commerce. It will rather help you in ur bachelor studies, trust me Wink

A-level colleges in karachi (ranking)

1)Karachi Grammer
2)St Patrick's
3)Lyceum School

the rest coem after these and it depends wat college u want to join. there are so many for instance st michael's,city school, beconhouse, foundation, avecina, lecol, oysis etc etc
just visit their respective offices get the admission form and apply.
appart from the top three schools admission in these schools is not a problem.

it wont be wastage of time.it doesnt matter where u want to do bachelors form.it is the quality that matters.if u r a commerce student believe me u stand a better chance of getting into good business school after Alevels, unlike NED etc where they have quota sustem. plus u would realize this fact after starting your bba as your communication skills (including presentation skills) will be better.the knowledge that u will gain through A levels would sail you through smoothly. u will end up having a better CGPA than your inter pass counterparts provided that u both put in the same efforts. this i am telling you from my own personal experience and many of my inter pass friends have realized this fact and regret the fact that they didnt do A- levels

Hey!...u said u have done ur intermediate and now want to do ur Alevels...did u ever do ur O Levels before ur intermediate?...To get into the 3 well known A level institutions u need to have excellent grades in your O levels...Schools like KGS and Stpats accept atleast 6 or 7A's....Lyceum wont take u in if you have grades less than an A or a B...oh yes places like Avicenna and Lecole will take u in even if ur without an O level...And u need to be financially strong too inorder to get into some A level school...frankly speaking dont be wasting your time...instead of this prepare yourself well for an aptitude test of some decent university.......i hope you will ponder over my suggestion.....
