WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CA AND CFA - ali_boy9 - 09-11-2006

WELL WAHT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AC AND CFA
WHO IS MORE IN POWER I MEAN IN KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- hanifasif - 09-11-2006

Well both are quite different professions.

CA is more to Accounts and Audit but CFA has different domain altogether (except to the extent of financial statements analysis) CFA course is more technical than CA. This is my personal opinion you may disagree. I found level 1 CFA more daunting than CA final.

If by using the word “power” you mean earning potential then CFA is much better. and if you mean technical know how then in Finance and Investments CFA is better but in Accounts/Audit CA has no parallel.

The level of difficulty of CFA can be gauged from the fact that there are only 12 CFAs in Saudia ( You are in Saudia I suppose), about 70 in Pak and 144 in Dubai. The recent addition to the list of 12 CFAs in Saudia is Mr. Osama (Group Finance Director of Tamimi group of industries). It took him more than any other qualification to qualify as CFA. He is an FCA, FCMA, FCIMA, CMA(USA), CFE, CFM, CIA, CPA and now he has finally got his CFA to crown his large portfolio of qualifications.

Now you know who are the people who have the guts to pursue CFA.
