Should I complete CAT before doing ACCA? - Axif Shamsi - 11-21-2006 Its said that if your pass 5 papers of CAT course then you are able to get admission in ACCA. I wanted to know whats better of the two options below? 1)Just complete 5 papers and stop doing CAT? OR 2)To complete the CAT course and then go for ACCA? - musafir - 11-23-2006 yes u r surely able to join acca after 5 papers..but i recommend you to complete CAT before joining acca.. firstly you gain an extra qualification.. secondly completing CAT will enable you join directly from ACCA part II (1st three papers are exempt on completion of CAT (ie the last 4 advanced papers).. and lastly you can straight away trasnfer urself to ACCA main scheme without any gaps and attempt the next papers from the following session... also last four papers of CAT include taxation which is almost the same paper as ACCA 2.3 (with very minute exceptions)... - ausmanpk2001 - 12-01-2006 If you can pass the remaining papers of CAT in the next session, then CAT would be better (as its less tough) But if you will take two more sessions to complete CAT then its better to join ACCA at passing part 1 takes usually one session. Chose the path which saves you most time - Salmancert - 12-02-2006 AOA, without taking time in consideration I would recommend completing CAT. if are think about cost then it cost almost same as if you opt ACCA part1. but after completing CAT the knowledge you'll get will help you in ACCA alot. |
