I think it all depends what you mean by finance sector, i.e. what specific job you are looking to target. If you have experience of auditing and you like to build up on your experience, I think corporate finance would be your potential area within finance. Equity research may also be a good place to target.

You shouldn't need any more than the accountancy qualifications that you mentioned to get a good job within the finance sector. What people tend to do if they make a career switch from accountancy to an investment bank is they sometimes do a MSc in Finance. This is by no means a pre-requisite or may not make them the right guy but may help them stand out from the crowd.

In my opinion, there is no point of doing qualifications where you can many exemptions as technically speaking you will not be acquiring any new knowledge and the whole exercise of obtaining letters after your name on the business card seems ridiculous.

You may get advise that you should pursue the CFA qualification if you wish to enter the finance sector. CFA have specific use and unless you are going for specific jobs, you shouldn't be pursuing this qualification. And, it is best to pursue CFA when you make the transition to the finance sector job as then your learning curve will be better.
