don't worry about the variant. ICAP doesn't sees which variant you have studied. so taking PK or GBR (UK) variant won't create any problem for you as far as ICAP is concerned.

Taking GBR variant will be good because

ICAEW offers exemptions only ACCA's who have taken GBR variant. You might not go for ICAEW but its not wise to close an open door.

PKR variant is a little more difficult ( i have heard it but i'm not sure) & it is said that PK CA's draft the syllabus & the papers & they are examiners so it becomes quite difficult like CA (not actually like CA but difficulty level increases). Again i've only heard this but donot have any evidence for this statement. & if CA's are drafting it then their mentality never changes, so i think that these statements are right.

& UK tax system is considered on the most complex ones in the world so you'll be pretty easily adjusted in any other country's system.

& last, the GBR papers is not very difficult but is actually easy (thats from my personal experience)

firms don't look at the variant chosen when recruiting internees. atleast not at this moment, things might change in the future.

So its my advice to take GBR variant for both 2.2 & 2.3

Best of Luck
