ACMA vs CIMA -- (HELP ME) - givemeworld - 01-27-2007
Hi,
My name is Abbas, I've yet completed Bcom from Urdu science University Karachi,,,,, Well, I am interested in doing some upper class professioanl courses,,,, I pertain to a middle class family so , My parents gave me 2 options.. 1- Complete MBA from Karachi University or 2- Complete ACMA from ICMAP,,,,,, here I need some guidance ,, i have alot hear about CIMA and I am interested in getting information about CIMA in detail.. like Scope in Pak n Abroad.
If U select CIMA as my further studies then I have to Join any firm for some cash(JOB). So please guide me what is better 4 me .. ACMA or CIMA?

u wants some information about ICMAP or CIMA

it all depends on you, if you want to settle in pakistan then just go for M.B.A from Karachi University and if u intends to setttle aboard then i think CIMA is quite rewarding but comparatively very costly whereas in Pakistan, prospects for M.B.A's from top quartile universities/institutes is very much bright.

So according to YOU,, CIMA is the best, if I want to settle abraod.... and If I want to settle in pakistan then I should go for MBA from the best University..... Well If I go for the MBA then the point is arised that it is also not a cheap course... I have to pay more than 1 lakh per year and CIMA also requires near to 1 lakh including travel charges to institute per year.....
I heard that the scope for cima in pakistan is getting extent as like ACCA has extent its reputation...........
and I also heard that ACMA is not a world recognized certificate and it is not even a bit famous in abroad... tell me the course which can make me a required professional accountant for both ,, Pakistan and Abraod
So please Guide me what is better for me CIMA or ACMA.

while doing your MBA u carries almost no risk while doing CIMA and others u go on taking high risk of putting ur precious resources at stake while having low chance of getting it cleared..........
remember high risk high return low risk low return
if u are confident enough and ur resources allow u to go on high risk side then obviously u must go for CIMA otherwise think for other best alternative which obviously could nothing other than MBA

YEah U are rite IMRAN,, if i wanna gain more, the pain will be more,...[D],,, But the thing is that what I am interested in knowing about, that is acceptable in both areas, like in PAKISTAN and as well as in Abroad... N I dont wanna go for MBA,, I m interested in doing Some professional courses.
My heart says CIMA must be my first choice but I wanna ask that question from some experts or experienced persons.
In other words,, which course is more easier and most favourable around the world........... ACCA, CIMA, ACMA etc

Hi- If you want to find jobs abroad, then you should strongly consider the CMA certification, which is somewhat similar to CIMA but rather easy to pass. This certification is granted to you by IMA and has a great worth abroad. You see american certifications are easier to do and their value in gulf countries is much more than the btitish or pakistani based certifications.
