Dear Arslan,

Your webpage/forum is using the name of a professional firm. I mean this bears nothing concerns for me personally, but, it may be wise to use such name only if the firm authorises it or if it is the official discussion forum of the firm.

Otherwise, it would be controvercial.

Further, the name of any particular firm may appear to be an obstacle in getting more and more posters and contributors.

Regards,

Kamran

Arsalan, you have COPY/PASTED the whole introduction from our AAB Resource Center and in one place you even left the initials of our firm 'AAB' unchanged.

Here's the snapshot from your forum of the Forum Introduction Page

http://http//www.aabaig.com/resource/downloads/AFF.JPG

And here's the snapshot from the relevant page of AAB Resource Center

http://http//www.aabaig.com/resource/downloads/AAB.JPG

Anyone comparing the above two pages can observe that it is a word by word copy.

Another remarkable thing you did was to copy this para too (word for word) from our Resource Center

quote
"The Resource Center's mission is to facilitate and promote an environment and attitude of freely accessible and uninterrupted knowledge sharing among accounts, finance and audit professionals to help them achieve excellence in every facet of their professional duties and responsibilities while at the same time also ensuring that copyright laws and regulations are respected and adhered to."

You have even copy/pasted accountancystudents.co.uk website's content as evident here

Hi everyone

Just a quick request - if you find the AccountancyStudents site beneficial please tell your colleagues, fellow students, lecturers and employers about us so that more people can benefit from the site.

Many thanks

Arsalan Butt has also copied the whole Rules and Regulations material from our Resource Center WORD FOR WORD. Check out this page http//afferguson.forum5.com/viewtopic.php?t=5&mforum=afferguson

Ironically, the Rule number 3 that he has copy/pasted from our website states as follows

quote
3. Copyright rules and laws must be kept in mind and copyrighted material should be used only after prior express permission from the author and even then, due credit should be given to the author wherever such material is used. To avoid breaking of such laws unintentionally, a better way of sharing information is to post links of the source website along with a description of the article, topic or information instead of copying and pasting it.

The Administrator is himself violating the rules and regulations. Duh!

Even the Technical area related titles with descriptions containing news related items have been copied (word for word) from AAB Resource Center.

In the Members' Introduction Area of your website, you have again copy/pasted the exact wordings from our Resource Center.

Shame on you.

This is called PLAGIARISM (Definition Stealing or using someone else's intellectual / literary work, material, writings, content, etc. and claiming or showing it as your own). It is unethical, unprofessional and even illegal.

Arsalan, you are tarnishing the image and goodwill of one of the best CA Firms of Pakistan (AFF) by your careless, unprofessional and irresponsible actions.

It is this very copy/paste culture which is destroying our potential and making us nothing more than lakeer kay faqeer. We should develop the confidence to take initiatives and have faith in our own abilities. It is high time that we stop stealing other people's efforts and start making our own efforts to reach our goals and objectives.

You know what you need to do, so do it a.s.a.p. before this matter is reported as it is to the partners of your firm. The whole content of your forum as of today has been downloaded and saved as proof of your Plagiarism.
