When to join a firm - ACCA - Adeel_desperate - 01-12-2008 hi friend i have completed my 3 papers of ACCA and also doing CA i wanted to join the firm now is it worth to join now or after completing 3 more papers. i have talked to Ibrahim and Co rehman rafiq sarfaraz ..... and Co Riaz ahmed saqib gohar and co now which of these should i join in Karachi or you suggest any other firm??? - kamranACA - 01-12-2008 Dear, You can join now, if you feel urself upto it i.e. studying along with hard works at office. If you feel it will affect ur studies and delay ur qualification, then join a firm after being an affiliate. Regards, Kamran. - Muhammad Amir - 01-14-2008 From current behavior of most of the big firms it is apparent that they recruit ACCA affiliates or at least Part 2 (Fundamental level) passed students in my view it will be beneficial to start articleship after completion of Essential module(i.e P1 to P3) it has several advantages for example, at this level a student can plan his future area of work and specialization because at the same time you need to choose your advanced optional level papers for example if you choose/plan to start Advanced Performance Management and Advanced Financial Management as your field of interest then it will be futile to start your career from audit, similarly if you choose/plan to opt Advanced Audit and Assurance and Advanced Taxation then you have to join audit firm as soon as possible.. One can manage his studies of advanced version papers with firm(as these are only two papers) but it will be a nightmare to start articles at fundamental level because your attempt of essential module will need time to study⦠Regards, Muhammad Amir - MEMON - 01-14-2008 I heard about Ibrahim and Co. I think better than other firms which u mention. As far as to start your articleship is concerned,i suggest you to complete atleast Part-2 Skill module of ACCA then join any BIG4 if your lucky champ. - Adeel_desperate - 01-16-2008 well i have studied CA Mod C as well and i think that i could passs acca papers as well i.e part 2 what i am concerned is which firm to join? i dont want to join big 4 caze its not possible now kindly help me as to which firm i should join??? - Muhammad Amir - 01-16-2008 After these Big4 5th option is Anjum Asim Shahid Rehman and Co.(Member firm of Grant Thornton) and 6th option is Ibrahim and Co.(Member firm of BDO Stoy Hayward)...
