Dont have the stomach (or time) to respond to discussions 8 pages long, so i prefer to stand on the sidelines and just watch. [))

Besides, i did my part at the start of this topic, ie to warm it up a lil bit <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>, now its up to you ppl to carry it forward.

oh yes, i think everybody learned and enjoyed it in GOOD SPIRIT.

i have been a follower of Goodman's Rule 1 from day 1 and wanted all super humans to abide to it.............

i noticed ur isolation guybrush.......was a cheeky move.

azeem

- Pracs - 09-11-2004

You have been vindicated Azeem.... I guess we have an end of discussion here. The opposing member NASCAR has one week to respond from today or the discussion be decided in favour of Azeem. I volunteer to be the arbitator is its acceptable to both the parties)

Yar common don’t end this topic but let other people to participate so that we reach to a conclusion and perhaps save many kid’s careers. (Let’s uncover the truth)
Reason for late reply is that I was very busy for the last two weeks and now I found some time out of my busy life (not like idle ACCAs).

Any way why many guys pass ACCA by only reading revision kits (not even the actual texts) and do u think one can get understanding of the subject by just doing that!!! (well an ordinary man with ordinary common sense, witch I think all people share equally, including ACCAs, will simply reply “NO”)
I mean I have never seen a guy got passed in CA exams by just studying revision series and that’s why, CAs have the better knowledge. (That is what one call "TRUTH")

And once again please don’t conclude this topic without any CONCRETE decision.

Yes let the younger generation give their opinion on the issue,,, I think coming for some one who is sitting for both exams... must be acceptable to both the parties.

By the way,.. you need prior knowledge to sift through the exam papers... !

Does reading revision kits alone and passing exams reflect on their abilities and prior knoweldge? Would you not try to pass your exams that way if you had the knowledge? Could it be that the CA simply did not have the knowledge? BTW - I wish I could just read the revision kits and pass. It would save a lot of time, effort and expense attending class and studying!

But the debate between ACCA/ CA is an age old one that is built from good old fashioned traditional rivalry. The CA's are losing the privelege they once had.

Its more important what kind of a mindset you are in.. a degree is not an end to all means,.. it is just one of the means to get where you want to be.

In today's world it is more of an entry ticket into the profession,.. what goes on next is you own ability I have seen unqaulified or part qualified accountants reach at the top of the hierarchy via their skills and management capabilities, just because you have a CA or an ACCA or a CPA does not make you an icon,, or an invincible professional so that you can go ahead and be little the ' have nots ' or those who do not fall into your tribe (read professional body).
