hey ppl,
Since im new to dis.. i wannit to know wat wud u ppl do if u had a choice b/w cams or TSA cuz well these two are the most repute4d institutes n soo when u do make a selection, wat wud u base is on??????I mean Why CAMS or TSA??

If you're doing ACCA, then you should take tuitions of different exams from different teachers who have a good reputation and are technically sound...

If you're planning to do CA, then you should go to Tabanis, although tabanis's management is extremely poor and idiotic but their teachers are good.

hi,
in karachi the competition on the basis of academic excellence is between TSA and Al-Hamd Academy. CAMS though being the first RAET, has been left behind. it is however still the most well managed and modern RAET in karachi but the problem seems to be that there are too mnay partners in CAMS and they have expanded too much sacrificing their reputation as specialized CA education providers. with AL-Hamd and TSA its different. they are under constant direct vigil and leadership of people like mr Kaleem Rehmani, Khalid Petiwalla, Sharif Tabani, who are all well known CAs and excellent teachers.
the teachers in Alhamd and TSA are the same. to name a few; Samad Dawood, Hamid Hakim, Khalid Fareed, Javed Zuberi...
talking about mgmt, AlHamd is excellently managed and there are absolutely no problems in that area. eveything is very well organized with a very friendly and cooperative attitude.

update recently had a VERY bad experience with the AlHamd management; cant still believe ppl could be that careless and irresponsible! anyway, what has to happen happens and can ahppen anywhere, but with experience and reputation one least expects such problems coming from such institutions and their managements. dont know what to say or think...dissapointed really.

i think i agree with thecharteredaccountant. The best institutes for CA in karachi are TSA & Al-Hamd. After that probably SBS and then comes CAMS. The teachers of TSA and Al-Hamd are practically the same as well. Management of Al-Hamd is OK. Not too bad but not too good either but i've heard high praise for the management of TSA. But overall the results of both the institutes are good and usually close to one another.<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> rest is upto you

Well we can not sit on our PCs and point out on an institute. First abut the CAMS it is not an easy doing of creating such a reputation of claas as the best intitution in the biggest city.Well About TABANI & Al-HAMD know doubt that they are doing there best.lets take an example of clearing the difference b/w cams and tabani or Al-Hamd.
If i wana to do CA/ACCA than deffinately i am intrested in that career now i should see my pocket will it give me the permission of doing it well.Just like Buying an apple and buying the dozens.So if u are good in study u can do it more good in Al-Hamd and if u are not good than u can not do it even in the best institution of the Paki.

Actually its not just Tabanis or Al-Hamd... If one is doing ACCA, he constantly needs to go to different institutes to get classes... For example, Sir Haroon Tabrez and Sir Javed Zuberi can be found in CMS especially for 2.3, 3.2 and 2.6,3.1 respectively...

Sir Naveed Bukhari teaches in Al Hamd and Tabanis both... So for ACCA students, what matters most is the teacher and not the institute or management... But for CA students, things are a bit different.

Well if you want to do ACCA, then to my knowledge only Naveed Bukhari has proved to be the good teacher in Tabanis for ACCA. But Tabanis Management is at its worse and you cannot even expect any gathering of information from them. CAMS teachers i have no idea but people says it's not that good. But it all depends on how you study yourself as classes do matter but not more than 30%.

the address of al-hamd academy... well... get on any bus going to khalid-bin-walid road (tariq road)... get off at danish motors... its the big Suzuki showroom near the end of khalid-bin-waleed road towards medicare... u wont be able to missthe showroom... go into the gali next to the showroom... leave the first turning to the left and go into the second turning on your left... and there u have it... you are standing in front of Al-Hamd Academy!!!

Can you please explain what happened with you at Al-Hamd? yes people are having problems with management.. but I think that's happening with all the CA institutes. Ever since the PPT exemption came in, the colleges are overcrowded by students so the management becomes sluggish. Can you explain what happened with you? I have somewhat direct contact with Al-Hamd and you can freely tell me what happened and I'll pass your problem to K.Rehmani.

hmmmm... well... things happen and will continue to happen and its good that thecharteredaccountant even after having a bad experience didn't start bad-mouthing Al-Hamd on the forum and start dissing the management... really respect that mr.thecharteredaccountant
i just feel that if something bad happened it was probably un-intentional and should not be publicised so as to spoil Al-Hamd reputation as it is one of the better institutes of CA around

well i dont kno much abt other institutes. i jst joined Tabanis and gave my first two modules. all i can say it was a very unfortunate experience. even in last week after sendups, the teachers were unable to finish the syllabus.. now i dont get it if a teacher is unable to finish his syllabus how is he supposed to b gud. i do agree the likes of sir majid, sir samad and sir nasim who were really gud and it was wonderful studyin under them... however for the remaining, it was utter incompetency. now wen v hav startd talkin abt incompetency one can not forget the admin of tabanis. they issued the registration forms for icap examination only thursday, with comin monday being the last day of submission at icap. some of students got there exemptions revoked bcuz of misinformation and wen consulted by icap, icap told the true story n the list goes on. i dont kno abt othrs, but tabanis seems like one school of professional education which doesnt even come close to the word professionalism.
