what to do - CMA CGA CA ACCA MBA - funkypunster - 01-23-2010 Hi, I am working as an ERP Consultant ( MS Great Plains ). and in the process of deciding whether to go for CGA or CMA here is my portfolio B.Com 2 years 1995 IT Diploma 2 years 1997 Programmer 8 years 1997 to 2004 ERP consultant 4 years 2005 to date to do better in ERP, i am quite confident on Technical side, but always find it difficult to grasp the business / functional side, and this is a must skill to achieve something in ERP. never worked as an accountant. what is good for me ?? 1- CGA start from scratch 2- CMA start with Accelerated Program ( 1 year ) and then SLP ( 2 years ) Please advise look forward to hear from you guys Thanks Syed - Toronto_Boy - 01-23-2010 Believing you are in Canada, as SLP(CMA) is offered in Canada (in addition to Bermuda). I would say either CMA or MBA, but both are intensive studies. Or some general business diploma or degree would be enough. CGA, ACCA are pure accounting designations, may not be much beneficial for you. Though CMA is also accounting designation but it covers management decision making of business better. I hope it helps. |
