ERP consultant career help - saira.awanACCA - 02-04-2010
I am new to this forum.i am ACCA student ,waiting result of last paper.i got opportunity to work in (ORACLE partner ERP consultant )in Lahore.the work is related to finnace and accounts.is it good option to start career? and if i leave this after 2 years ,can i switch in industry or in banking . kinldy reply early .thanks

A good option to start a career is an audit firm. No better PpL to work with than the Chartered Accountants themselves. Although a working in a firm will be VERY tough in the start

i am not talking about audit firm. i got oppurtinity in IT company not audit firm . that IT company is ORAcle partner and have good client portfolio.And audit firm induct students after CA result.and for that i have to wait 5 months .

I know. What i said was it is better to start you career in an audit firm. You can tell them you are awaiting results

thanks dard for replying.i talked to 15 reputed firm in lahore ,All replied they will take only ACCA affiliate . and contact when u qualify .and they also said that they prefer CA inter .thats why i am thinking to join that ERP consultant firm.i just want that is this relevant job for my ACCA .and if i join then later can i switch to industry.

How many papers are left in your ACCA?
Yeah, sadly firms prefer C.A inters because they know the C.A internees are not going to go anywhere for atleast 3.5years. Whereas ACCA affiliates have no binding contract and can leave the firm anytime
Would you please tell me the responsibilities to be given to you in the post ERP consultant? I am not sure about the nature of the job

Saira start doing Job by availing the available opportunity, if your ultimate intension is not to do CA then more feasible option is to do the Job in the firm, you discussed.
However, if you want to continue CA after ACCA then join any CA firm.
