Institutions are primarily run by systems and standardized SOPs though human involvement cannot be denied. However, such involvement does not break into the SOPs for interests of individuals. Rare incidents are not under discussion.
Other non-institutional set-ups are highly dependent upon individuals, their decisions, benefits and interests. I donât wish to write more on it. This is too difficult to explain you at this stage (and specially when specifically named firms are under discussion) and I recognize and accept my lack of appropriate expression to make you guys understand.
In AFF, all sections are good and each one has its own SWOT; yet I believe for an upcoming CFA plus ACCA their section managed by Mr. Rasheed Jaffer would be more appropriate. I don't exactly know which one is that; some one from AFF can guide you in this respect.
Regardless of above, I believe E&Y is also an extremely quality place to work at; and there is also no denial of huge portfolio of audits with KPMG. Still, my experience says that if you want to be a part of the profession in the longer run, (in Pakistan), nothing is comparable to AFF.
Just to clarify, that I am/was not from AFF.
Certainly people like Mohsin are our gems; one such gem is oddysee (a member of this forum) who has not been appearing on forum for quite some time.

Thats the problem with Pakistan. If our institutions were actually institutions we'd be much better off. Institutions have processes, set guidelines and a predefined and time tested way of working. People have to fit into the system, and not the other way around like in our country where everytime system is changed by individuals. Institutions provide organisation, discipline and efficiency. What we have here is the 'kaam chalao' approach.

Why do they ask to report at ICAP? By the way I applied in ICAP after my ACCA result, I hope thats okay with firms? Or do they have their own procedure?
