Scope of ACCA in Pakistan? - Fareed - 07-06-2010 Hey guyz nd Galz, I am doing ACCA (Part-II). I got in, in ACCA with a great motivation by influence of its global scope especially in Pakistan. But since a couple of weeks I have been hearing regularly the opposite things about ACCA's scope in Pakistan particularly. I got very demotivated, If anyone can gimme the right picture, whether or not ACCA still has a good impression upon employers. Please share your experience whether positive or negative about ACCA and its global scope. m waiting. - FutureCA - 07-06-2010 Hi Fareed! look, in this era...study means a lot..study means everything.. atleast you r studying something!!! and u'll not find it difficult to get jobs when you need that..! bcz Acca's are also considered good by the firms that train students!! Best of Luck!! - WARDAH - 07-06-2010 agreed. . . - Fareed - 07-06-2010 Thanks both of you,,,, Any other comments....../????????? - arsenal.gooner - 07-06-2010 bhai everyone cannot be the CEO of a company but one can and should aspire to be. today, the market is so competitive that every one is going for a second and even third qualification. you will find CAs doing ACCA or CFA etc. similarly you will find IBA and LUMS grads doing CIma/ACCA/ CFA. the point i am trying to make is that you should make your ACCA qualification a stepping stone towards bigger and better things. you should look to get atleast two good qualifications under your belt. "sitaaron se aagay jahan aur bhi hain abhi ishq ke imtihaan aur bhi hai" so dont dishearten yourself. ACCA is a pretty good qualification. One exercise that i suggested on this forum earlier is that go linkedin and search for ACCAs in Pakistan (i have personally done that). you will see that most of them are working in good positions (many are even without any other qualification). So concentrate on your studies and try to clear ACCA in first attempt. apni mehnat aur khuda per yaqeen bcz insaan mehnat kar sakta hai magar us ka phal sirf khuda hi de sakta hai. Even I agree you... I am planning to get MBA (Finance) at least, of-course with BSC (HONS). - samm1087 - 07-11-2010 @ arsenal your point of view is very clerical & logical lets proceed but stick with topic ACCA question is after ACCA there are two options for trainees first to go to corporate sector like ICI,packages or finacial institutions like banks for training 2nd option to go for articles for three years like big 4 A.F.F or EY or other firms as some says that even after articles in big 4 u u have to find job so better iz to go for job directly after ACCA ? so what are merits & demerits of these options let me practically explain someone apply in ICI For entry level financial training post & at same time i apply for Articles in A.F.f Or Kpmg so simply what track to start for ACCA what would u recommend what r ur point view that who is more in scope from career & job view after that 3 years of training in these 2 options - Dard - 07-12-2010 Samm, nothing can compare to the training of an audit firm. They give you indepth training, and keep rotating trainees. You have to deal with clients of various industries, you get to learn alot. And when you go on to write in your CV the responsibilties you had in an audit firm, and the work you have done, it would definitely magnitise the potential employer towards you - ciapk - 07-12-2010 Agreed with Dard |
