@adnan

No qualification in the world can guarantee you job.... Even PHd can't....... So go on, get qualified and leave every thing on Allah, you will have one.. but thinking about salaries and jobs at this moment will only frustrate you as we are going through the global recession phase...

MBA is secure and CFA is quite risky.....
MBA is easy as compared to CFA....

Analyze your strengths & limitations, then decide... When i say it, i meant it seriously because CFA is not bed of roses...

My personal recommendation would be to go for MBA as it has wider scope for Job market... CFA is confined to Investment, research and portfolio management only and has very limited market in Pakistan....

Assalam Alaikum
Dear Adnan CFA has a wider market Abroad, but in Pakistan its market is limited, although it has good value & scope, but as mentioned above it is not easy to complete CFA.

so u will not suggest CFA as it isnt easy?-/ well plz clear 11 confusion of mine...for MBA Lums/IBA they need 2 years experience.. so i dun hav the experience under my name so u think gettin an MBA degree from sum other university will be of worth???

m a hell confused person these days[(]

- S.A.Shamsi - 09-01-2010

Dear Adnan
Its totally up to you, if you want to make your career in investment banking & can work hard then start CFA, as it has very good value & you will earn handsomely (Both in Pakistan & Abroad).
MBA from universities in Pakistan other than IBA/LUMS is not much worthy.
Nows its up to you what you decide.

Regards

if MBA from other universities is not of that worth then should i step in and start preparing for CFA L1? or any other suggestions?

- S.A.Shamsi - 09-04-2010

If you have trust in ALLAH & faith in yourself then go for it...start CFA.

dear Adnan i would like to add some thing here, i am CA intermdeiate plus bachlor in commerce , few months back i was passing through same situation as yours, i was very much confused whether to start article ship or do job as i had job offer from my brother who works for an largest insurance company of pakistan in banc assurance, well finally i accepted his offer and i got good entry level
as far as your question of job availability is concern it depends on different matters like, your refrences , current market, and vacancies, today getting entry in market is difficult, i recieve hunderd of CVs evry other day but unfortunately we dont entertain all of them so conculsion is that it is not right time to think about job availibity first make up your mind what you want to do CFA or MBA and try to make a solid decision,CFA Is really difficult and there is no guarantee that you ll pass it, chances of passing MBA are high comparitavely, you should start CFA after getting job as you ll be having some sort of income and experience as well then try to judge market and make decision about entering in CFA...
and truly speaking if BBA does not provide you knowledge in depth so it will become very difficult for you to pass CFA if you start now,,,,

- zohaib_25 - 01-28-2011

and it is true you need to have experience in order to get good position no matter if you have passed all three levels...
