Going for ICAEW after module D or C - cowsgonemadd - 09-07-2010

hey guys
needed some advice here. it just occurred to me that i could pursue ACA after completing module D or C from ICAP. I read on their website that you can apply for credits in a bunch of papers if your a part qualified ICAP. So what do you think? heres the list of possible pros and cons i came up with..please advice and feel free to add to the list.

pros
1. ICAEW is easier than ICAP and ICAEEW members can automatically become full members of ICAP.
2. working as a trainee in a UK firm could be regarded as a high value thing.

CONS
1. need a lot of money to study in the UK. ICAP is cheaper
2. Could possibly require more time since there are some papers from module A-D that ICAEW dont treat as equivalent..

I also thought the same to switch to ICAEW from ICAP and i got the same info what you have got.
If you have lot of money then you must try for it. Otherwise it would be better to complete till Mod F and then after giving two papers become member of ICAEW. And till we reach Mod F it is my opinion that till then these two papers of ICAEW will also be exempted.
