A difficult decision - Addi_1 - 06-28-2004

Hi! I am in that part of my life where i have to choose my career.I have done FSC pre-eng.I dont want to go to the eng. line.i heard that CAs earn a satrting pay of 30000-40000 and this goes on incresiong with time and crosses 50000.Is this all true.Plz help me in this regard and post replies.

Addi

well most of everything u said is true, except for the starting salary parts. These days those figure hang somehere around 25-35,000 mark, but those swell in no time to 50k+. But remember that doing CA isnt easy and you will have to quite literally put in guts, sweat and blood to succeed. But if you are ready to put in such efforts, then go ahead and cliam your rightful piece of the pie.

heyy... CA mein rewards to buhot hain but before that you have to put in sheer hard work for 6 years(minimum) before you can reap the fruits of your toil!!

If I could... Then I would... Turn back time!!

Invest minimum six years of your life, prepare yourself for the unexpected, teach yourself to accept everything that comes your way whether good or bad, learn to learn from failures...

you're on track for CA!!

Hmmmmm guys does the salary increases with experience?R u sure that it doesnt reach 50,000.I am not afraid of its difficulty but i am concerned whether the rewards r enough or not.If i can earn 25,000 doing engineering than y should i waste my 6 years instead of 4!

After doing CA it is guaranteed that u will earn much more than an engineer, and the thing is that every CA is getting good salary, at least 25,000/- but its not the case with engineers, i myself know many engineers who are working at 10 to 15 K.

Well you'll find tens of thousands of engineers but you wont find that number in CA. Since 1961, around 4000 CA have become ICAP members and most of them are abroad.

Starting pay is 25-35k and depending upon experience and institution it keeps on climbing. I myself started at around 36k and in 3 years i am around 75+car (hope there is no one from CBR). One of my colleagues is earning 100+car and thatz the norm if u have around 5+years PQE. So go on for CA however u'll have to sacrifice atleast 6 years of your life with no guarantee that u'll pass the examz.

- Pracs - 06-29-2004

Agree with what my colleagues have said. Just to quote something one of our teacher's said on our first day of Foundation.

'See yourself as having joined the army, let your family know that. Divorce yourself from most of your social life and put in hard work, there is no way you won't make it as a CA and beyond'

All that is true, but the buck doesn't stop there, you will have other areas to specialise in.

aoa
o bhai ub aa bhi jao ICAP aap ka intazar kar raha hai
ye sare sahi keh rahe hain

CA Walo Waya Karwa Lo

Well i am satisfied with all ur replies. Now i wanna know that which RAET is the best in Lahore and is there any hostel facility?

- Munshee - 07-03-2004

PAC PAC n PAC...the top collegs in lahore are SKANS and PAC....i've experienced both.....PAC's faculty is more experienced professional and qualified..... u'll really enjoy there studyin....SKANS too is good but there are some deficiencies which PAC haven't......examples are class assignments.....in SKANS they are an occassional item but in PAC they are part of course.....further PAC have there own published Past Papers...... also PAC is the oldest institute for CA......one more difference is that in SKANS u get glamourous babes but in PAC All u have are widows.....hahaha .... i mean PAC mein "mahool" nahi hai......just study and i think u can sacrifice it .......hai na?

ICAP MEANS "mein Topa"

Dear Addi, as far as the qualification is concerned you can ask about your career, i mean which qualification should be choosen. but if u will start comparing the intitutes in the manner that which one is best, it leads to advertising,
it is my personal opinion.

If I could... Then I would... Turn back time!!
