Career Counseling - zeshan - 04-25-2011

Salaam All

i m a Bachelors IT (4yrs)and MBA Finance. my current career is in technical department in media channel. i want to change my career to finance. i think finance has better scope, more options and bigger salary range as compared to technical. are my assumptions right? i m more interested towards the finance field that would lead to risk management career in the banking sector due to its good scope n salary which i heard from word of mouth. also which field of finance has got the highest number of jobs worldwide and a good salary structure other than risk management.

i m being offered a account trainee position. should i take the offer for now since i have been applying for finance trainee jobs for a long time to no avail. can i enter the banking sector and afterwards risk after starting off in accounts?

wat certifications/degrees should i gain and how to take the career alongwith to gain access to risk management in banking. please guide

thankyou

Risk management does not come under Finance.
Finance has scope, but the field is very competitive. There are many MBAs out there.
If you wish to pursue Risk management career, go for either the qualifications from the institute of Internal Auditors(IIA) or the qualifications from the Institute of Risk Management(IRM). For more information visit http//www.theiia.org and http//www.theirm.org.

also is Risk Management better or Treasury in terms of salary and scope. can i enter RM or Treasury after i start off in accountancy since this job can bring me closer to Finance field rather than stay in my current field
