AOA,

I am new here, just searching was about ACCA but when flt down here got confused after reading BULL Fight between CAs and ACCA ...<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
So, Advice me where should i go ? CA or ACCA ....
I am graduate, working as a Datbase programmer since 7 years...
and the main cause moving to CA/ACCA ... no respect nor value in our country ....<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> as well not any comming optunty...

Note ICAP site is not working well, lot of links like bflo song <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> ..... even contactus.htm is not working ... <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

salaam all,

hey, abdusalam, i advise u NOT to do ACA. reason is tht u r already in job for seven yrs. v dont know ur marital n financial status, but i m sure many ppl of ur family might b depending upon this job. if u go for ACA, ur job will b lost due to its articleships. articles last for four yrs n u will get just a little stipend.

my advice is tht if u really want to enter finance or accounts profession, thn opt for ACCA or MBA or CIMA or ne other related qualification tht can b completed ALONG WITH the job WITHOUT loosing it. during the course, try to move into accounts or finance department of ur company. it shall contribute towards the requirements of 3-yrs work experience as well. u can even opt for CFA if u r interested in financial institutions!!!

benefit of doing these things is tht u can continue ur job. u can shift in the relavent finance/accounts depts. n gain relavent exposure as well. but in CA, u shall miss ur job n four yrs article will not pay u nething n u never know whn it shall end!!!

final decision is urs, this is my personal opinion, without biases for ICAP or ACCA ppl bcoz i m in NONE of these two )))

I don't want to discourage you but whichever qualification you go for, CIMA, ACCA, CFA etc, you'll still have to get three years of work experience. Although the work experience requirements are a bit lax, you'd still have to invest minimum three years to have some market value.

you have been in the towm since many years, i wonder you are trying to go for the profession which takes to long to finish.even if you are not getting respect you can even go for related jobs in the same field, i suggest...

As i did not write that i am general B.A holder.... thats why can't get a reputable post in my field as i could not get in 7 years except stiped. that's why switch myself in this field....

No one is depent upon me ... my father supports me ...

I would still suggest you to move on with your current 'professional field'... There are other various qualifications for programmers and the field of IT/Computer Sciences itself is so vast...

People say the field of IT/Computer-Sciences has become saturated, however, it still lacks highly qualified individuals, and yes there is always room for the best at the top.

mr. abdusalam, i ve gone through ur reply, ur initial query, and the replies of all the members in its accordance. ur putting blame upon us, specially CAs, is unwarranted n unwanted. the problem lies in ur own initial query, n not in the members of this forum.

v r here to guide the ppl as much as v can, n NOT to hurt or mislead them. how come u know v r ACAs? specially, i ve explicitly mentioned it as well, to clear out ne coloring of biases.

thirdly, NO two ppl arround this planet will give u exactly the same advice. so, ur mentioning of this link, tht u gave us for comparision, is unethical n unwanted.

forthly, i ve read all the replies here n found not a single word tht should hurt ne1, let alone u.

finally, the problem lies in ur own initial query. it was ur responsibility to give us all the background of u, n all the contexts in which u need the reply. v r not sitting infront of an interview pannel to reply in YES or NO format. every problem has different solutions in different contexts. so, v r free to make ne assumptions for making decicions if u r not providing us. u shud've given us ur educational background, financial or other relavent info. all these clues r missing in ur query. so, ur putting blames upon us hakes no sense.
had u had told us these things in advance, instead of telling now, u could ve been given a wider range of options. eg, go for ICAEW, why ICAP?? or go for PhD in applied thermodynamics, or research in rocket science etc etc.

so, next time onwards, b specific n clear abt all the parameters of ur problem, n clear out ur mind from all the biases tht u carry at the moment. all of our members r helpful n cooperative.

i m sorry to write u in this way, but u deserve this treatment.

Sumaaan I have mentioned that i am general B.A not specialist in Computer exectp experience,some certificates, and diploma ... so can't get reputable position in my whole life as i couldn't get in 7 years except v good salary + benefits...

I want a respactable post not only good package... hope you can understand it well....

I never mind the things except abusing.
That guy abuse me as well my mom (late) because I just pass some remarks about stipend (whos getting better ... if you read that link you can understand)

And regarding Pakistanis, I am also Paki and I did not say any word to them i just mentioned that particular person who abused me ... No mention what ever you people thinK...
